The Vello Mini Softbox is designed to increase the quality of light from your shoe mounted flash unit. The softbox has a silver interior lining that increases contrast, and the white diffuser front creates a soft diffused light with soft shadows. It fits most shoe mounted flash units, and is held in place with the built-in elastic band. You can also use it without the diffuser front for a bare bulb effect. The softbox folds flat to conveniently fit in your gear bag.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use this on the new GFX medium format camera?

A: Yes you can.

Q: 2. Will this function on the XT5?

A: Yes this flash is compatible with the Fuji X-T5.

Q: 3. Compatible with X-S10 ? Noticeably more capable than the built-in ?

A: Unfortunately, the Fujifilm EF-X8 is not compatible with the Fujilfilm X-S10.

Q: 4. I just bought the TTL FujiFilm radio receiver for the Godox AD200 flashes. Will the EF-X500 work with this set-up? If so, do I use the same radio receiver system to sync this flash? Thank you!

A: If you have the Godox X1T-F or Godox X-PRO F transmitter to fire the AD200, which has a built in receiver, you would not be able to fire the EF-X500. There are presently no Fujifilm compatible receivers from Godox.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with Holga 135?

A: The FUJIFILM EF-X8 Flash is compatible with Fujifilm cameras. The way how FUJIFILM EF-X8 Flash is outputting the power is relying on Fujifilm TTL system.

Q: 6. What adapter and sync cord should I purchase for using this flash, wired, to an X-Pro2?

A: There are no TTL cords yet, but if you are using this on the X-Pro2, you won't need to adapt it since it was made for the X-series cameras.

Q: 7. Is the flash compatible with the x-h1?

A: Yes, the FUJIFILM EF-X8 Flash is compatible with Fujifilm X-H1 Mirrorless Digital Camera.

Q: 8. I'm confused. It says it has full wireless capabilities but there is no wireless trigger system available. So how exactly is it wireless? It does state it can fire optical via light pulses which I guess means you can use one flash to set off a sequence of other flashes off-camera. Not exactly full wireless . Any idea when they will actually have a proper full wireless system for Fuji before I ditch the whole rig and go back to Nikon?

A: It's my understanding that the xt2 will be able to control the flash in camera, and that the xp2 may get this in the future via firmware update. Alternatively you can use one flash as a wireless master, negating the need for a separate trigger. I'm pretty interested myself but will be waiting to see some reviews before I jump at it.

Q: 9. Can you attach an external battery pack to this flash such as the type that clip onto your belt for use in wedding photography?

A: This flash is actually very good. I also have the battery pack, so the recycle time is decent. I use the X T3's and the medium GFX 50R's for weddings. To help light up reception rooms I have White Lightning strobes, the 3200. Everything runs off of radio slaves. Well the EF-X500 has not let me down once. I've heard this flash is actually made by Metz. In the film days I used the 60 series Metz. Nothing but power.

Q: 10. I'd like to attach a Quantum Turbo 3 battery back to the EF-X500. Is that possible? If so, which cable/connector is compatible? Sony? Canon? It's definitely not Nikon.

A: This flash is only meant to be used with the EF-BP1 battery pack. Any use of a third-party external battery pack may result in serious damage to the flash unit.
