Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the headphone output have enough power to drive Sennheiser HD600 headphones which are I believe 300 ohms?

A: Absolutely. The headphone amps in these products are the same as are in our mixers, dedicated headphone amps and other interface products, which support the entire range of common headphone impedances, and have been trusted for use with pro headphones (read: high impedance) for nearly 30 years.

Q: 2. Sunwayfoto also makes this rail with a locking lever instead of a knob. I see B&H does not carry that version. I actually prefer the convenience of the lever, but is the knob actually more secure?

A: Both are very secure and a matter of personal preference. With the knob, you can apply more tightening force than the lever but of course the lever is more convenient.

Q: 3. can i record vocals with the mackie studio or i need to buy a separate interface?

A: You can record your vocals on the Mackie Big Knob Studio model, as it has two mic inputs and it also operates as an audio interface.

Q: 4. How does the rail mount to tripod?

A: The bottom of the rail has standard threads for mounting (like any camera) but the entire rail itself is compatible with any arca-type mount and this allows you to move the entire rail back and forth.

Q: 5. Hi! If this is mounted vertically on a copy stand (for use as a "microscope" setup), would the action be smooth and precise, even at 4x magnification? It would be a working distance of about 10mm from microscope objective to subject. This would be a ≈5lb. camera/lens setup attached to this rail. If this isn't a suitable rail, could someone recommend one that would work well? Thank you!

A: Because it is a heavier camera and lens set up, I would probably not use this one unfortunately. The one that I would trust the most would be the following: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554343-REG/Manfrotto_454_454_Micrometric_Positioning_Sliding.html Due to the fact that you can screw down a tension knob that very securely locks it into place. This would be the strongest one that I would recommend for a setup such as yours.

Q: 6. can I connect a preamp like the dbx 286s to the Mackie big knob studio?

A: Yes

Q: 7. Is it compatible with Sunwayfoto CR-30C ?

A: The Sunwayfoto DDC-26 Mini Screw-Knob Clamp is not directly compatible with the Sunwayfoto CR-30C. The CR-30C already features an Arca compatible mount. If one wanted to mount a camera using the the DDC-26, one could mount it onto the 1/4 20 male connector on a small Arca compatable quick release plate that would mount onto the Sunwayfoto CR-30C quick release clamp.

Q: 8. Can this rail be used as a nodal rail for panoramas?

A: No this is for macro use

Q: 9. What’s the difference between Heipi KF50-S Ball Head and Heipi KF50-Q Ball Head. Which one shall I buy?

A: The Heipi KF50-Q and KF50-S Ball Heads differ in their locking systems. The KF50-Q features a quick-release lever, while the KF50-S features a traditional locking knob.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with Sachtler 75mm Flowtech legs?

A: Yes, the Sachtler Tie-Down Knob for Ace & 75mm Heads will work with the Sachtler 75 Flowtech legs.
