The only difference between the ED500 and ED500P is the fan specification. The ED500 is single stage as against the ED500P which is listed as 70 CFM .The remailer carton can be used to send it to the manufacturer for service.

A: It does not. Other reviewers who said it generates hurricane-strength wind are correct. Hang on tight to your film. Ear protection's not a bad idea either. This is a serious little howler!

A: I can't answer about the difference between the 500 and the 500 P, but my experience says I do not believe either would be good for cleaning slides (assuming they are photographic, 35 mm slides). The unit I have has a sponge filter on the bottom but this is insufficient to remove the smaller dust particles that would easily get through. The motor is very powerful.
