It's the best I can do short of a drone. This is a studio stand. It's heavy and bulky and best with no wind. I've mounted a full sized DSLR with an 80-400 zoom on a motorized head extending some 18 feet up ... outdoors. Fun. I added 30 lb to the base and even then I was sweating bullets until finished. Now at the same height with a smaller lens and calmer day it was tolerable, but adding guide wires came to mind. Solid build, positive locking large diameter extensions make this a five star stand and I'll add another one in the next few 5

Inexpensive solution, but not stable without guidelines. I use 4 bright color para cord guidelines into metal stakes in the ground. Holds it quite stable. Almost perfectly still in most wind. Obviously, don't use it on really windy days. Breezy days are no problem with guidelines. I use it with a motor head and CamRanger. Paid for itself quickly. 5

With camera and lens I have 8lbs. on the unit. With full extension you will get some movement due to how long it is, but with a slight wind I felt I would need to physically pull it over to make it fall. This was with no additional straps to hold. The built quality to extremely sturdy. 5
