This 1 RU MultiDyne 12G-SDI Video Portable/Throw Down Fiber Optic Transmitter features four 12G-SDI video inputs. It also incorporates one Genlock/Sync Output and one Gigabit Ethernet port. It supports single-mode fiber operation over its one ST connector. Housed in a 1 RU V4 enclosure, this transmitter can be rack-mounted using an optional RM-1RU-V4 kit.

A: Yes. Comes with an AC to 12V DC power supply so you can run on 12V DC if you do not have reason to use any other voltage within the specified 6-36V DC. Just be careful not to mix the polarity, I am not sure its reverse polarity protected.

A: No, the SFP+ to RJ45 adapter modules are not compatible with the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G-SDI.

A: Yes.

Q: 4. Does this support tally data?

A: Yes, it does. The tally, signal will come in the return feed from an Atem Switcher to any number of Black Magic Cameras & Studio Viewfinders. The Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G, will pass the signals: Both SDI to optical and optical to SDI. It will pass the Tally information that is embedded in that signal, that comes from an Atem switcher passes through the Mini Converter Optical Fiber and then to a supported Blackmagic Camera. ( URSA Broadcast/ URSA Mini Pro / Studio Cameras / Pocket Cinema Cameras).

Q: 5. Does this unit matches framerate and size of ins and outs, or everything needs to be settled to match previously?

A: This unit does not have scaling built in. All Resolutions and Frame Rates need to match before it reaches the Kumo 3232 Router.

Q: 6. How long of a run can this handle?

A: Depending on what type of fiber cable you are using, distances can be hundreds of feet to many miles.

Q: 7. Is the bidirectionality simultaneous? Or is it one or the other?

A: The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G-SDI is multi-rate and has bidirectional capability.

Q: 8. could one of the channels carry reference/genlock?

A: No only digital SDI Video signals. Reference is an analog signal.

Q: 9. Does this support Talkback on the ATEM TV Studio 4K?

A: Yes it is compatible with the ATEM Talkback system.

I have a decent Silk tripod, but after talking to a professional photographer friend who told me he relies on Manfrotto for his tripods and monopods, I decided to try the Manfrotto XPRO Monopod Plus Aluminum 4 Section. It seems to be very well built, easy to adjust and holds my Nikon D7100 and 4 lbs of zoom lens with ease. I've decided my next tripod will be a Manfrotto as well. I certainly recommend the Manfrotto monopod. 5

I am pleased with the monopod. I got it just prior to Christmas for outdoor photography applications and haven't used it yet. But I like the D shaped leg and two release points versus a larger number. The clamps are generally the weak link on tripods and monopods in terms of stability. 5
