Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this unit stream to YouTube and or Facebook?

A: While it does not have streaming capabilities built in, it does have an SDI output which you can use with a capture device for streaming. The Magewell USB Capture SDI Gen 2 is a great choice for this. B&H # MA32070 will work with a Mac or PC that has USB 3.0 and allow you to stream to Facebook and Youtube. https://bhpho.to/2nCad8F

Q: 2. Can I set each input channel to 1080 or 720 separately?

A: The inputs on the Datavideo SE-1200MU 6-Input Switcher and RMC-260 Controller Bundle need to operate at the same video standard. So it can either be 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720.

Q: 3. Does the SE-1200 MU use cooling fans? If so, what is the noise level?

A: There is no mention of a fan or fan noise here or at Datavideo for the Datavideo SE-1200MU 6-Input Switcher and RMC-260 Controller Bundle.

Q: 4. Can you take the HDMI output of the SE-1200MU and capture it on a Mac using Final Cut software?

A: Yes, you can capture the HDMI output with a capture device connected to your Mac. A product example that interfaces with Final Cut Pro is Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Recorder BH #BLUSMINIREC • MFR #BDLKULSDZMINREC. https://bhpho.to/2L9DOSS. This will connect to a Mac through thunderbolt. This does not come with a thunderbolt cable and if working with thunderbolt 3, you will need a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter. Q: 5. Will this support controlling a PTZOptics PTZ camera over IP?

A: Yes, the Datavideo RMC-2 Joystick Camera Controller should be able to control other camera brands that use VISCA over IP Protocol. PTZ Optics cameras will support this Protocol. However, we recommend using PTZOptics controllers with PTZOptics cameras because of their level of support if a setup problem does arise. PTZOptics PT-JOY-G4 IP/Serial Joystick Controller (4th Generation) BH #PTJOYG4 or PTZOptics SuperJoy NDI|HX/IP & Serial PTZ Camera Joystick Controller BH #PTSUPERJOYG1

Q: 6. Can this device output a program out 1080p over SDI? Can it output a 1080p pogram out over HDMI? Can the SDI outs be used for multiview and preview?

A: The Data Video SE-1200 MU supports these HD video signals: "1080i/50, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/60 and 720p/50, 720p/59.94, 720p/60" which can be output via HDMI or SDI. HDMI 1 and The SDI outputs can be configured for either program out, preview and multi view. HDMI 2 will always be a multiview.

Q: 7. Can it be upgraded to 8 channel?

A: There is no official way to "upgrade" it to 8 channels, you would have to add separate additional hardware or replace the whole switcher with an 8 channel switcher like the Datavideo SE-4000 (BH #DASE4000).

Q: 8. Will this switcher properly handle 1080p29.97 from cameras like the Panasonic AW-HE40 over SDI? I understand its a 1080i product, but isn't 29.97p sent over SDI like interlace?

A: Hi James, the SE-1200MU switcher cannot accept 1080p signals through SDI. It can accept 1080p 60 or 59.94 through HDMI input. Thanks!

Q: 9. How is the output recorded? To a external hard drive or is there a card slot for SD card?

A: This switcher does not have any recording capabilities built in to it. However it does have SDI and HDMI outputs which you can use with recording devices. Datavideo also offers the HRS-30 Portable Hand Carried SD/HD-SDI Recorder, B&H # DAHRS30. You could also look at products like the Atomos Shogun Flame, B&H # ATOMSHGFL2.https://bhpho.to/2yKDFNHhttps://bhpho.to/2Gyy7tw

Q: 10. it can use with mac and window?

A: The control software Datavideo offers for the SE-1200MU switcher is for PC only. They do not offer Mac based software.
