Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. I am five foot in height, cancer as a kid shortened my torso, hence, straps often seem too long for me at their shortest. Having trouble using the specs listed to know if this would be too long for me. Any advice or experience from shorter folk?
A: Being similar in height, I have the same problem and do own this strap. I would honestly say that at max height (the point in which adjusted strap in the back comes back down and reaches the camera) is pocket level. Just slightly below my hip. I am OK with my mirrorless and D750. But a camera with a grip or my D850, is too long. As the other answer mentioned, it can continue to be adjusted but you would have to do some creative stitching to hide all of the extra strap that comes down to avoid it from wrapping back up in the front and preventing the camera from laying flat.
Q: 2. What is the difference between this model and the Sport Breathe strap?
A: The BlackRapid Sport Breathe Camera Strap is more ergonomic. It turns higher up onto the shoulder. It also has a wider strap that is 4 inches wide. The BlackRapid Curve Breathe Bundle (Special 50th Anniversary Edition) is 3.3 inches wide.
Q: 3. Can you screw this strap into the tripod collar so the camera can be horizontal to the ground instead of hanging down?
A: The BlackRapid Curve Breathe Bundle (B&H # BLCBRTHBFR5) comes with the BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe (B&H # BL363001) that can mount on to a 1/4"-20 thread on the collar.
Q: 4. what is the maximum weight can this product handle ?
A: BlackRapid straps are designed and tested to safely carry all professional-level cameras and equipment and will easily hold 20kg (44 lbs.) of static weight load. For an added layer of security and to help with peace of mind, we do recommend the use of the Camera Safety Tether that comes in the box with every new strap.
Q: 5. Can this be comfortably worn with a backpack?
A: I do it all the time and never think twice about it! The only complaint I have is that I have a pretty small frame and because Ive adjusted the strap the way I have, the strap tends to stick out a bit in the back/come off the hook (where its been adjusted/has a clip to hold it, but the adjustable clip on the back doesnt always hold the strap as securely when putting backpacks on and off. I just have to check to make sure it isnt sticking out funny regularly.) No photographers I know with this strap have had this complaint, but theyre mostly bulky dudes who dont have to adjustment the strap as much as I do as a slim woman.
Q: 6. Does the curve breathe come with the BlackRapid Camera Safety TetheR kit?
A: The Camera Safety TetheR Kit is no longer made by Black Rapid.
Q: 7. What is the difference between the Curve Breathe and the Blackline 1, aside from the extra lug in the Curve anniversary pkg?
A: The BlackRapid Curve Breathe has breathable round cut-outs in the shoulder pad and a narrower strap for a person with a slim build. The Blackline 1 has lightweight materials for superior breathability, with a patented should pad with has slanted cut-outs in the padding and a mesh covering for increased comfort.
Q: 8. Which BlackRapid product works best with a Canon SX70 HS bridge camera and binoculars for birding? What if I also carry a backpack. Like my binoculars harness because I have neck pain. Bin sit in middle of chest with straps going over shoulders, criss-crossing behind back, and returning under arms: https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Binocular-Harness-Strap/dp/B000BH24JM Will the BlackRapid Curve Breathe work with my binoculars harness system??? Will they get in each other's way? What if I add a backpack? Right now camera on single strap and binoculars are constantly bumping each other. Can't even lift up one to look at birds without tugging and tangling. BlackRapid Binocular strap doesn't look right because it dangles from neck. Like idea of attaching bins to a backpack, but that's the exception, not the norm. Suggestions for perfect combo where camera is easy to detach if I want to hand to my boyfriend or attach a tripod?
A: Consider this Harness , BlackRapid Double Breathe Camera Harness BH #BL361003
Q: 9. Can these be worn safely over prescription eyeglasses?
A: Yes, the DayStar Filters Solar Eclipse Glasses (Map Print, Special 50th Anniversary Edition, 5-Pack) can be worn safely over prescription eyewear.
Q: 10. I need to be able to quickly disengage the camera from the strap, and quickly mount it on my tripod using the ArcaSwiss hardware. How? What pieces are needed? Answers to a similar question did not include a solution I could find at B&H
A: You will need an ArcaSwiss compatible tripod plate (BlacRapid offers 2) and also an L-bracket.
