Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the case made by Pelican , and is is lockable , also is there any way to lock the zippers on the travel soft bag? There are 4 cut outs for lenses. Are there more Loxia lenses to be released ? Are the Loxia lenses sharper than Batis lenses ? I have all three Batis, and would like a case for these as well. Will Zeiss offer a case for them ?Thanks: Half Centurian

A: Unfortunately, Zeiss does not indicate the manufacturer of the Zeiss Loxia Transport Case/Bag. The hard case does have holes for use with a standard TSA padlock. Your question concerning lens image quality is not quite balanced as the Loxia lenses and Batis lenses do not come in similar/equal focal lengths. The closest option would be the Zeiss Batis 25mm f/2 lens and the Zeiss Loxia 21mm f/2.8 lens. BOth lenses have nearly similar performance, though the Loxia lens is slightly sharper compared to the Batis lens, though the Batis lens is both brighter and has slightly better vignetting control. We only have access to information that has currently been released by Zeiss or announced in press releases. At this time, we do not have any information regarding newer Loxia lenses to be released or a case specifically designed for the Batis lenses.

Q: 2. Does the pro300 dim itself from higher output modes as the battery declines? Couldn’t get 75% for more than a few seconds on bat

A: The battery decline in power could be related to a few things. I may refer to the heat sync and fan settings. Q: 3. Why is this set more expensive than buying the lenses/case individually?

A: The list price for the individual ZEISS Loxia lenses, transport case and LensGears comes to $6,356. The Loxia 4-Lens Bundle price for the same items is $5,720 (recently adjusted), reflecting a 10% price discount.

Q: 4. What is a replacement light bulb for this model?

A: We sell both the Ushio PH140 Lamp (75W/120V) (B&H # USPH140 MFR # 1001266) as well as the Eiko PH140 Lamp (75W/120V) (B&H # EIPH140 MFR # PH/140) replacement bulbs for this item.

Q: 5. Will this Avant Softbox work on the Hobolite Mini as well?

A: No, the Hobolite Avant Softbox (23.6") is only for the Hobolite Avant Bi-Color LED Light.

Q: 6. Do you know if Zeiss planning on releasing more batis lenses? 50mm and 35mm, a macro lens?

A: Oh boy I'm excited. Pls do a macro lens

Q: 7. Does this enlarger have a Diffusion head?

A: Yes, the Beseler Printmaker 67 Dichro (Color) Enlarger does feature a diffusion head.

Q: 8. How many condenser lenses are supposed to come with it? The one I received 2 weeks ago from you only has 2. The 67c I supposed to have 3. Not sure if one was missing with mine or not.

A: This version of the Beseler Printmaker 67 Condenser Enlarger (B&H# BEPM67C) comes with just a single 50mm 3.5 Beslar lens.

Q: 9. This light only seems to power up to 80% when on battery. Is this a limit? Where can I verify this, as I don't see it listed?

A: We made an inquiry to Hobolite and here is what they answered: 1. The PRO have 2 voltage input sources, the standard 16V input (where most batteries in the market use) and the 48V input (plug in AC source). 2. The PRO uses 300W of power, so each battery would output a maximum of 120W, and 2 batteries would equal 240W. 240W is 80% of 300W, hence the limit. 3. Why can 2 batteries only output 120W each while the power supply can supply the whole 300W? Its because the current max for the connectors are rated at 10A, so at 12V and 10A for the battery, the output is maxed out at 120W. While the power supply operates at 48V, which only needs around 6.25A to reach 300W

Q: 10. Does this enlarger have a diffusion head?

A: The Beseler Printmaker 67 features a diffusion head.
