This 55mm Special 50th Aniversary Edition 18-stop Solar ND Filter from Tiffen is a solid ND filter with a 262,144x filter factor that provides an 18-stop exposure reduction. Its 5.4 density darkens the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed while reducing the risk of overexposure. This means you can capture more detailed solar images than might be possible under normal conditions. This filter limits IR and UV light, ensuring color-neutral images, and reduces glare with its multi-layer coating.

In honor of B&H's 50th anniversary, Tiffen presents this limited edition run, specially designed to celebrate five decades of creative partnership. This exclusive Special 50th Anniversary Edition embodies the commitment to excellence that B&H stands for. Get your hands on a piece of history with this distinctive edition.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Q: 1. Could you take off the square C shaped strap holder and put on a large split ring to keep the square C from coming off ???

A: Are you referring to the Brad underarm stabilizer? If so, please contact us at customerrelations@blackrapid.com so we can better assist you. Thanks!

Q: 2. I already have an AcraSwiss compatible tripod L-bracket. How does the camera mount to this strap. The product pictures dont show a detailed shot. It looks to me like the users in the photos use the standard tripod mounting screw to attach the camera to the strap. The L-bracket already uses this screw connection on the camera to mount the bracket to the body of the camera so is there any other special adapter required?

A: The native D-ring that comes on a tripod plate is not weight-bearing, the ring will pop off. We have a patented weight tested FastenR that connects to the 1/4 tripod socket on the bottom of the camera. The ConnectR then attaches to that. To attach the Arca Swiss compatible ball head, you would need to get one of our Tripod plates which have a patented weight-bearing FastenR design to work with our straps so you can easily go from strap to tripos flawlessly and with confidence.

Q: 3. Does the curve breathe come with the BlackRapid Camera Safety TetheR kit?

A: The Camera Safety TetheR Kit is no longer made by Black Rapid.

Q: 4. Will this strap hold a NikonD500 with a Sigma 150-600 lens? Total weight is just over 6 lbs. Should the strap be attached to the tripod collar on the lens or the camera base?

A: It works quite well. and you willl have no trouble with the strap. The strap will be attached to the base of the camera (the screw mounting is included).

Q: 5. Di I need a special adapter to use this strap with a Manfroto tripod acra quick release?

A: Our Tripod Plate 50 and 70 are compatible with most Arca Swiss Plates and would be needed to use with the camera and tripod at the same time.

Q: 6. Can this be comfortably worn with a backpack?

A: I do it all the time and never think twice about it! The only complaint I have is that I have a pretty small frame and because Ive adjusted the strap the way I have, the strap tends to stick out a bit in the back/come off the hook (where its been adjusted/has a clip to hold it, but the adjustable clip on the back doesnt always hold the strap as securely when putting backpacks on and off. I just have to check to make sure it isnt sticking out funny regularly.) No photographers I know with this strap have had this complaint, but theyre mostly bulky dudes who dont have to adjustment the strap as much as I do as a slim woman.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the Curve Breathe and the Blackline 1, aside from the extra lug in the Curve anniversary pkg?

A: The BlackRapid Curve Breathe has breathable round cut-outs in the shoulder pad and a narrower strap for a person with a slim build. The Blackline 1 has lightweight materials for superior breathability, with a patented should pad with has slanted cut-outs in the padding and a mesh covering for increased comfort.

Q: 8. Can you screw this strap into the tripod collar so the camera can be horizontal to the ground instead of hanging down?

A: The BlackRapid Curve Breathe Bundle (B&H # BLCBRTHBFR5) comes with the BlackRapid FR-5 FastenR Breathe (B&H # BL363001) that can mount on to a 1/4"-20 thread on the collar.

Q: 9. Can this also be used over the left shoulder or only over the right shoulder?

A: This version is left should for a right hand user but you can buy a left hand / right shoulder version.

Q: 10. Which BlackRapid product works best with a Canon SX70 HS bridge camera and binoculars for birding? What if I also carry a backpack. Like my binoculars harness because I have neck pain. Bin sit in middle of chest with straps going over shoulders, criss-crossing behind back, and returning under arms: https://www.amazon.com/Vortex-Optics-Binocular-Harness-Strap/dp/B000BH24JM Will the BlackRapid Curve Breathe work with my binoculars harness system??? Will they get in each other's way? What if I add a backpack? Right now camera on single strap and binoculars are constantly bumping each other. Can't even lift up one to look at birds without tugging and tangling. BlackRapid Binocular strap doesn't look right because it dangles from neck. Like idea of attaching bins to a backpack, but that's the exception, not the norm. Suggestions for perfect combo where camera is easy to detach if I want to hand to my boyfriend or attach a tripod?

A: Consider this Harness , BlackRapid Double Breathe Camera Harness BH #BL361003
