The 1620MNF Case from Pelican is an airtight, crushproof, dust and water resistant hard case for use in rugged terrain. It includes a mobility kit which adds a retractable extension handle and a built-in dolly system with 4" polyurethane wheels and stainless steel ball bearings. You can travel knowing that your gear inside this case is protected thanks to its solid polypropylene walls and watertight polymer o-ring seal. An automatic purge valve allows you to open the case after changes in atmospheric pressure at any altitude, making it suitable for air travel. The double-throw latches on the side of the case can withstand almost 440 lb of pressure, yet allow you to open and close the case with a light push or pull. Stainless steel hardware and padlock protectors prevent corrosion while providing extra strength against theft.

A: The bottom layer has dividers and is not removable. As shown the top layer is removable. Both layers have adjustable dividers.

A: The best way to accurately find out if products will fit in a specific case is to stage the items once you purchase them. Staging is arranging the items within the limits of the case size. A: My Nikon D-3200 will only fit in this case when I take the lens off. The lens and the camera body will fit into this case lying flat and not connected and you will need to install both lens caps and the camera body cap.

A: Pelican 1560M Case and Mobility Kit with Foam has much larger wheels that makes rolling the case through different terrain for long periods of time much easier. The difference in size and weight is not really significant since the case is rolled on the wheels.

A: You may want to move up to the 1600 case, the 1550 may be too small.

Q: 10. I have a case that is 18.9 x 13.6 x 7.6 that I would like to put in this case but before I buy it I see that the pelican's size is 18.43 x 14 x 7.62 ....is the difference between 18.43 and 18.9 going to be a problem?

A: I would ensure you measure at the shortest point inside the box. The box has a rounded corner on the outside which also transmits to the inside as well. You are working with a fairly small margin of error, plus you will need to account for hinges, latches, and the handle on your existing box. You may want to go up a size and purchase the foam insert to fill the excess space inside the box. Hope this helps.
