Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this item have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth capability?

A: As is the ikan IDX-096 96 Channel DMX Console is dmx cable only. But one can add wireless receives and transmitters to it like most DMX control boards. This is an example of one, https://bhpho.to/3pYf47i .

Q: 2. How many different fixtures can it manage?

A: The American DJ Scene Setter 24-Channel Dimmer Board (B&H# AMSS24DIMBD) has 24 channels. As such, it can change 24 different types of settings. You can divide those up as you please among as many fixtures as you like as long as no two fixtures have settings set to the same number if you want each fixture controlled separately. Or you can deliberately have two (or more) different fixtures share the same channels to control them together as a group. For example, 24 separate fixtures using one channel each could be dimmed separately as that would require one function per light (24 fixtures x 1 function = 24 channels). Or 12 fixtures using two channels each could be both dimmed and the second feature (e.g. the speed of a strobe effect if your fixtures have a strobe option) could be adjusted (12 fixtures x 2 functions = 24 channels). Each additional function requires one extra channel per fixture. If there are three functions on each fixture then you can control all such functions on eight fixtures separately (8 fixtures x 3 functions = 24 channels). Any multiplicative combination of fixtures and functions that equals no more than 24 will mean that you can control each function of each fixture separately. (Make sure, however, that fixtures do not unintentionally share two channels. So, if one fixture uses four channels then if it’s set to, say, channel 10, then it’ll take up channels 10, 11, 12, and 14.) In a typical setup, one does not need to control every fixture separately. Rather, two or more fixtures are most often set to the same channel and thus controlled as a group. In such a case, let's say we have several one channel fixtures with only a dimming function (no strobe, etc.) set to channel 12. When we move the slider for channel 12 on the controller then those fixtures will be dimmed as a group at the same time. The same would be true of any other functions that those fixtures may have if they possess additional features such as color, strobe, movement, effect, gobo, and so on.

Q: 3. Does this board work with led pars

A: This can be used for LED Pars but is not ideal for them as each fader will access one feature of the LED par so depending on the channel mode you can burn through channels quickly. If you have several pars set to the same dmx channel and can get by with 48 channels than this will work for you.A better option for LED pars is the RGB3C IR or the RGBW 4C IR as there are presets and built in programs. These are specifically built for LED pars.Another option would be something like the DMX operator series or the Show designer 1 if you wanted run scenes and programs that you have created, but not adjust colors on the fly (as this can be cumbersome with this option).

Q: 4. Will this control the mini kinta?

A: Yes this controller is compatible with LED effects lights such as the Chauvet DJ Mini Kinta.

Q: 5. Can this console be used to control only incandescent stage lights (old school)?

A: The CHAUVET DJ Stage Designer 50 24-Channel Dimming Console is a tree pin DMX control board. To control incandescent lights you will need dimmer packs. As is it is fine for led lights.

Q: 6. do you Daisy-Chaining them?

A: yes you can daisy chain the dimmer packs

Q: 7. Does this board work on 220V as well as 110V?

A: short answer is no it does not the included power adapter is for 120v but the power specs are DC 12-20V, 500 mA Min.

Q: 8. does this work with FotodioX Pro FACTOR 1 x 2 V-4000ASVL Bi-Color Dimmable LED Studio Light?

A: The system referenced is made for conventional par lights and would not be ideal for what you are likely trying to do. This setup is for units without an internal dimmer such as a 500 watt Par can. The unit that you refer to states that it is controllable via dmx but I cannot seem to find how many control channels it uses, so I would assume one and its just for dimming although the color temp seems to be adjustable also so it may be more channels. I would ask B and H about that part. I would recommend the SDC12 if you just want manual control of the dimming and no programming or scene recall. The description refers to DMX as the control source and also that it is 3 pin so there isn't any reason I can think of that this controller wouldn't work.If you want programability I recommend something like the ADJ DMX Operator or the Elation Show Designer 1 for more intricate programming.

Q: 9. When using several of these can I sync them? For example, if I place units on the same DMX channel, set the speed to 4 flashes per second and then enable them by setting the intensity from 0 to my desired level will they begin flashing at the same time and maintain synchronization? Alternatively, can I control individual flashes by setting a slow flash rate and then retrigger by setting intensity to zero and then back to get a "flash on demand"?

A: According to the manufacturer when on a control board they will sync and act as one unit.

Q: 10. How many fixture can support?

A: The IDX-096 has 96 channels but the amount of fixtures it can support depends on how many channels are available on the fixture itself.

I have used it at a church and love the fact that it is very easy! It was hard at first but was easier to use after a few reading and watching videos on youtube.

Very strong strobe for a very good price. It shines brightly in small and medium-sizedrooms and has good and simple controls for speed and brightness (although the brightness doesn'thave much of an effect).

Better controls for speed and brightness would be a good addition.

I came into a theater that had two channels down on this model, consequently I purchased a replacement. Hung it powered it, assigned and ran it. So far everything is meeting expectations and I'm happy to be able to execute my design as intended.
