A: Hi Justin,The top handgrip is secured directly to the top of the camera with screws. Also, the holes on the handle are threaded.

This slide plate is worth every penny. It is solid and well made. It's metal and fits very easily on my tripod. I started using this and found the number of pictures I have to shoot to get a good one is reduced well over 60%.You now can focus that 1/16th of on inch with no problem. Just turn a knob, which has a lock so you don't loss that focal point. 5

I use this for my Macro photography and it helps a lot in getting the most clear picture I can. maybe the are betterr more expensive models out there, but this one works fine for me. 5

For small product photography (think diamond rings and such), focus stacking rocks. And is barely possible without something like this. Highly recommend. 5

I had a inexpensive @macro plate and decided to try the Manfrotto. I'm glad I did. This one is much more precise and adjusts more easily. Focus stacking with this product works great. 5

I haven't bought one of these slides yet, but I certainly know I need one. I have a super-sharp Nikon 105mm f/2.8 macro lens, and at a working distance of about 30 cm (one foot) and f/8, its depth of field is only about 1 mm (see any DoF calculator on the web). Most of my attempts at focus stacking have yielded mediocre results... not bad, but not always as crystal-clear throughout as could be expected from such high-quality optics. That's because accurately guesstimating a 2mm focus shift through the viewfinder is pretty much impossible! This slider takes the guesswork out of the process and should yield the results I'm looking for, and I've never, ever been disappointed by any of the Manfrotto tripods and accessories I've purchased. I'm looking forward to posting some magnificent macro photos in the near future. 5

I use two for an X-axis and Y-axis control in super macro photography. Really Right has a cleaner set up but is twice the cost of a single Monfrotto rail and I had already bought one. The worm gearing and scale allow for precise positioning mm by mm as required. 5
