Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens have weather sealing?

A: The Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Lens is not weather sealed.

Q: 2. What lens plate or lens adapter is needed at the front to mount XCD lenses? What part number or product name to be specific.

A: Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with 20mm Lens Kit for Hasselblad X Mount comes with a Hasselblad X Mount adapter to connect your hasselblad X mount medium format camera. As for the lenses the lens mount it is a proprietary mount, compatible with optional ACTUS-B lensplates only.

Q: 3. Does the 20mm seal come with a lens hood

A: No, I just received the lens cap only. Maybe the hood was a special offer at some point. I purchased mine last October(2016).

Q: 4. Will this work on a7ii? What will be pro and cons? How's clarity and quality of this lens on a full frame body?

A: It's designed for an APS-C / crop sensor. And it has pretty good quality on one of those. I believe the FE mount is the same actual mount, and the lens will physically attach to an A7. But, the glass is designed for the crop frame sensor and I'd expect many issues on the edges (softness, heavy vignetting, off distortions) which would never be in the image on the crop frame it's designed for.The A7 probably has a function to automatically crop the sensor to APS-C size in the menu. But then it'll have a cropped view similar to a 30mm (guessing about 16 Megapixels).

Q: 5. Will this work for full-format Sony cameras, like the a9?

A: Physically this will mount on a full frame camera such as the A9 however it will need to be shot in apsc or super 35 mode to avoid vignetting.

Q: 6. What's the lens crop factor ?Any lens vignette ?Is there a lens lock switch to prevent lens falling out of the adapter ?

A: 1) Crop factor should be around the .55 range (if my math is correct). Because the Hasselblad V lenses were designed to cover a 6x6 film negative there should not be much.2) Individual results may vary, and an entire list of coverage options cannot be provided at this time. However most lenses should be fine. 3) The lens is secured to the adaptor when in use.

Q: 7. Does this lens have a metal lens mount?

A: The Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Lens has a metal lens mount.

Q: 8. How does this compare to the 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens? Is it worth getting if I've already got the kit lens?

A: To be honest with you, the only real difference you'll be getting is the wider aperture (f/2.8) If you already have the 16-50 PZ lens, I would suggest looking into other Sony lenses that cover a different focal length you do not have, or a specialized lens if you're looking to shoot a specific genre of photography.

Q: 9. Is this lens OSS/stabilized?

A: No, it does not.

Q: 10. Does it allow full manual control of the focus?

A: If the camera is set to manual focus, then you would be able to use the focus ring on the front of the Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Lens to focus the lens manually. The lens does not have a built-in aperture ring, so you would have to set the aperture of the lens using the control dials on your camera body.

fits my needs for just every day walk around stuff. definitely wanting something a little more wide open in aperture for the bokeh but definitely fits my needs at the moment!

I got this lens to go on my Sony A6000 because it's a moderately wide pancake lens. I can drop this camera and lens combination with the Sony lens hood and lens cap in a cargo pocket in my shorts or pants and easily carry it with me. It comes out easily enough when I want to use it.

The image quality is pretty much what I expected and is good enough for my usage.

All-in-all, I'm pleased with the lens and find it to be just fine for this mode of use.

Image quality is about the same between Sigma's 30F/1.4 and this Sony. Where the Sony shines is in focus speed and all the electronics in it work as designed. This alone makes it a better choice. I do miss the 2/3RD of a stop though.

Lightweight, small and optically excellent. This is a great wide angle walking around lens for Sony e mount aps-c cameras. It is outstanding on my a6500.
