Q: 5. What is the difference between this lens and the Digital drive version for $42,000.

A: Canon quotes that the advanced digital drive unit deploying 16-bit encoders is fully compatible with the zoom, focus and iris controllers used with established broadcast 2/3-inch HDTV cameras. Three 20-pin connectors on the drive unit interface with these controllers (such as ZSC-300D and FPD-400D) while also providing a 16-bit interface to virtual systems. The unit empowers a variety of operational capabilities that are set up using the on-board display on the Canon CJ24EX7.5 IASE 4K UHD 2/3" Portable Lens.

Q: 6. With this lens attached is there any distortion?

A: Under normal use the distortion is minimal however if you get extremely close to a subject you will see distortion.

Q: 7. Can this be used on a Canon XA-10 and, XA-20 as well as the coming XF605? Do I understand that is is partial zoom thru?

A: Yes it will. This lens is not a zoom through it is designed to be used with the camcorder lens fully zoomed out.

Q: 8. Does this lens cause vignetting when zoomed out all the way using a XF400 camera?

A: It does not. This should not cause any vignetting when used with the Canon XF400. It was designed for that camcorder.

Q: 9. Im building a studio, is this a good lens for mid-long distance indoor use and what mount does this use

A: This is a 2/3" Box Style Lens with a 90x zoom range, that is one of if not the longest zoom ranges available for a lens like this. I am sure it will work well in a studio, but this is the kind of lens you would see more for an outdoor sporting event thanks to its very long telephoto range.

Q: 10. I just attached this strap to the lens barrel on my 400 f4 DO II and it puts all the weight on my neck. It is too short to use as a shoulder strap? What am I doing wrong?

A: When using the Canon Lens Wide Strap B f/EF 300 / 400 mm f/2.8L IS II USM, it is important to experiment with different lengths. If the trap is set to be very long it can sometimes lower the pressure on the neck.
