This is a robust, and very secure level base that allows me to set up a tripod shot quickly on rough terrain. I am very pleased with the positive hold this base has while using large lenses. I feel the Aratech level base is a great add to any photographers tripod work in the field.

The base is light, very effective, and reasonably priced. It is a fantastic product for multi-shot panoramas for stitching. It speeds up the process of levelling the tripod head alot, so that when you pan, the camera remains level. I love the base, and keep it on my tripod all the time. I consider it an essential tripod accessory.

It is easy to install and works great with my Acratech��GP-SS Ballhead With Lever Clamp. �The large leveling bubble is easy to read, even in low light conditions.

I purchased this with a video head in order to utilize some standard tripod legs for my video setup rather than purchasing a dedicated video tripod. Build quality is top notch and the large knurled adjustment knob is easy to access and use. The cost was a little higher than some of the others but for the extra 30-50 dollers you get solid precision.

I really love this product. Makes it so easy to open my tripod and start taking pictures, especially panoramas. Very simple to use, takes 5 seconds and bam you have your camera level. Although it's pricey, I highly recommend this!

Very high build quality, typical of Acratech, although a little expensive. Very robust and locks down well, even with a heavy ballhead, nodal rail, and a Oly E3 with battery grip.

This product works as advertised. It does add height & weight to your tripod, best used when not backpacking!

This is my first leveling base. Combined with a fluid video head this is a new level of functionality for me. It also prevented me from acquiring a gimbal head which would have only been useful for one photographic purpose. The big plus is that I can do smooth pans with my video segments with this setup.

The positive reviews posted are spot on. I encountered the leveler mounted under the ball head on a tripod of a photo class instructor. The class had nothing to do with equipment, let alone leveling tripods, so I had to ask what that thing was. I decided that I'd afford the leveler in lieu of moving legs up and down to center my tripod's little bubble for panorama shots. The leveler is a USA product and seems exceptionally well made. I have it mounted under my Manfrotto 488 head and with it and a bubble level in the flash shoe I can quickly level for panos. If your present head is ready for replacement, I suggest that you consider Acratech's head that includes a leveling device.

Architectural and panoramic photographic applications describe my primary uses for this tool. It provides rapid leveling with a single knob. I have not identified any issues that are negative regarding this tool yet.
