The bottom has an opening that would allow you to mount onto the gimbal but the thing that I am concerned with is the side mounting of the lens onto the Sidekick! This unit is made so that the mount is on the bottom & the other openings for you hand to slide into so you can reach the controls of the camera body. You may want to ask someone at B&H Photo for there expertise of these items are & they may suggest an alternative model that would better suit your needs! ... Hope this helps with your decision! A: This raincoat is just too large. After purchase of this one I would not purchase another. I chose to use two large (quart) zip lock freezer bags. They were much tighter fitting, drier to use and you had full visibility of your camera and lens. The so called raincoat is a good idea but they need to go back to the drawing board.
