Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. After formatting a 32GB microSDHC memory card in the computer I checked the available memory and found that it varied with the image size I selected in the Setup menu. Without having recorded any videos or taken any photos, the available memory varied from a low of 10,032 with a selected Image Size of 12M to a high of 85,876 with a selected Image Size of 1.3M. How can this be? On a formatted empty 32GB card shouldn't the available memory be a bit less than 32GB regardless of selected Image Size?

A: The number shown on the display is the number of photos you can take at the selected camera settings with the available remaining memory.

Q: 2. Does Transcend 32 gb micro sd card needed to be formatted before taking videos?

A: You should format the card before using it. You can do this on a computer or in the camera. To format in the camera, insert the memory card, turn on the camera, advance to the Setup menu, go to Page 6 and select Format. In response to All data will be deleted highlight OK and press the OK button. See the Pevly website for an online guide and an outstanding downloadable manual for the SJ4000 Wi-Fi.

Q: 3. does it camera have any image stabilization such as 6-axis image stabilization?

A: The SJCAM SJ8 Dual Screen Sports Camera (Black) will have digital image stabilization.

Q: 4. how long does the battery last after charging it?

A: Battery times vary widely depending on how a battery is used. Having the camera on for long periods, frequent playback, etc, etc all are extra drains of the battery power. I suggest getting extra batteries so that you are not disappointed when you are out shooting and far away from AC charging.

Q: 5. How do you remove and replace the back door on the waterproof housing?

A: To remove the back door, open it 90 degrees and push it back off the main housing at the hinge. To install a door press it onto the main housing at the hinge at a 90 degree angle.

Q: 6. which extension pole do i get for the sjcam 4000 wifi?? and do all extension poles come with a bluetooth or connection so you can push a button on the stick to take the photo?

A: You need only mono tripod because the camera with many accessory this for action recoding

Q: 7. What's the max and min shutter speed?

A: Unfortunately, shutter speed is not listed anywhere. I imagine they went that way to keep things simple thus exposure is usually all automatic. About all you an do to influence exposure is set ISO and plus or minus brightness of the image. Based on those settings, the camera then varies the exposure with the shutter speed, whatever it is.

Q: 8. does it work like a security cam?

A: No, but it will works as a Web Cam. The camera is able to stream video through its USB port so that it can function as a webcam when connected to a computer

Q: 9. Can I connect the SJCAM SJ4000 via USB port (or other cable?) to my iPhone and view the live feed from the iPhone?

A: No - but a live video stream is available when the camera is connected via USB to a computer.

Q: 10. Can you use an external wired or wireless mic with this?

A: Not that I know of. There's no external mic jack, at least.
