Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the tightening screw just below the 1/4 -20 made of aluminum or plastic?

A: The black plastic knob that is used to screw the 1/4 -20 thread into the camera is plastic.

Q: 2. What would be the reasons for choosing this ball head over the similar Oben bd-02?

A: Both the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head, B&H # OBBD0, and the Oben BD-02 Mini Ball Head, B&H # OBBD02, are very similar. The main difference between the two items is the BD-0 Mini Ball Head has a slim profile platform on the top of the tripod head, while the Oben BD-02 Mini Ball Head has a wide platform on the top of the camera. While both may be used with cameras as long as they are under the maximum load capacity, I would personally recommend the BD-0 for small, lightweight, and slim cameras, hot shoe flashes, LED lights, or other small, lightweight fixtures that use the standard 1/4"-20 tripod connector. The BD-02 with its wider platform would be better for larger cameras such as point-and-shoot super-zoom cameras, larger advanced point-and-shoot, mirrorless, or DSLR cameras, and larger camera accessories that use the standard 1/4"-20 tripod connector and which would benefit from better connection from the wide platform.

Q: 3. Would this be good for a 2.5 lb Nikon P950 on a monopod?

A: Yes it would hold a Nikon P950 on a monopod.

Q: 4. What is the true load capacity? overview shows 22lb and specs show 10lb.

A: The legs in the Neewer TP62 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head are rated for 22 pounds but the head is only rated to support 10 pounds.

Q: 5. Is the head Ball Head or Pan Head? Some descriptions found refer to Pan Head vs Ball Head

A: The Neewer TP62 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head includes a ball head. A pan head usually has a longer panning bar built into the head.

Q: 6. would this porduct work as a replacement tripod head for http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/717667-REG/Benro_A150EXU_A_150EXU_Digital_Tripod_Kit.html ?

A: Yes, the Oben BD-0 can be used as a replacement head on the Benro A-150EXU tripod.

Q: 7. I have 2 of these that have become stuck together and I can't get them apart. Has this happened to anyone else?

A: The best way to separate two of the megants in the Oben Magnetic Mount Kit with Mini Ball Head is to twist or slide them away from each other in a lateral motion. You can also use the edge of table for leverage as you try to slide one of the magnets off of the other.

Q: 8. This ballhead has the ability to use either 1/4 -20 or 3/8 -16 according to package. But I can't figure out how to change it to fit my Platypod for the correct fitting. The one it comes with is too small. How do I change it?

A: If you google 1/4 to 3/8 adaptor I think you will find an inexpensive fix. They won't let me include a link.

Q: 9. Do you recommend this expensive and versatile light for the inexpensive Phase one camera shown in the images?

A: No.

Q: 10. Can you remove the head?

A: Yes, Neewer TP62 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head comes with a 1/4-20 -3/8-16 short center column That replace the short center column with the build in ball head. Therefore you can connect any other ball heads on the tripod.

There are many mounts available with a clamp and goose neck for webcams. In fact, I replaced one with this Oben desk stand and it is SO much better! It is easier to precisely position and is 100% stable. It is made from quality materials at a good price. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it.

This review is for the Oben aluminum desk stand. I use it in conjunction with the Insta360 4k webcam. Decided to use this combination to put the webcam in the middle of my 43'' monitor for improved screen presentation in business meetings. The base is wide and heavy and there's been no tilting or risk of falling over when I move the stand. I am happy with the purchase.
