For people who really love sound, the high-gloss white with white matte front Kanta N°3 Floorstanding Speaker is a new benchmark in high-fidelity from Focal. The Kanta N°3 features Focal's exclusive Flax cone drivers with Focal's NIC technology to provide unparalleled neutrality and accuracy in sound reproduction. For the high frequencies, Focal has developed an inverted dome tweeter made from pure beryllium, which promises high-frequency response up to 40 kHz for incredible detail. Along with the precision drivers, Focal's multiple-port Powerflow system lowers dynamic compression while increasing depth and impact.

This acoustic masterpiece performs at its best in large rooms, from 430 to 860 ft2. Adjustable floor spikes are included with protective cups for placement on any flooring. All Focal speaker drivers are developed and manufactured in France by Focal.

For the Kanta series, a Flax sandwich cone speaker has been combined with a Beryllium tweeter. This unique flax/beryllium combination gives audio incredible warmth and musicality. Made in France, the patented flax cone has already proven itself in other Focal speakers, like the Aria 948. The midrange speaker uses TMD (Tuned Mass Damping) suspension, and every Kanta series speaker is also equipped with an NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) motor, which stabilizes the magnetic field for perfectly defined sound and better controlled bass. The IAL3 beryllium tweeter combines the IAL (Infinite Acoustic Loading) and IHL (Infinite Horn Loading) tweeter features, both of which help with the absorption of waves, thus reducing distortion.

Due to its incredible rigidity, beryllium represents the ultimate material for a tweeter dome. Able to cover more than five octaves (1 to 40 kHz), you may ask yourself why does Focal strive for an extended response at 40 kHz, if the human ear can only hear up to 20 kHz? If you can extend frequency response, you will improve the perception of transients and other micro details.

The linearity of the speaker's response curve is mainly a function of three conflicting parameters: lightness, rigidity, and damping. Currently, only one material permits a joining of these parameters: Beryllium. For domes with identical masses, beryllium is seven times more rigid than titanium or aluminum, the latter two well known for their rigidity. This results in a sound wave propagation three times faster than titanium and two and a half times faster than aluminum. In the end, the linearity of the frequency response curve, the acoustic transparency, and the impulse response of the beryllium tweeter are maximized and offer near-perfect sound.

Flax cones are made of a high-quality flax fiber core enclosed by two thin layers of glass fiber. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass, because the fiber is hollow. It also has very-low elasticity, which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of the sandwich structure. To design a high-performance diaphragm, you have to optimize a complex set of criteria, which are for the most part contradictory. The composite solution using flax in a sandwich structure with fiberglass skins is a very harmonious way of combining low mass with high internal damping, high velocity of sound, and high flexural rigidity.

The flax cone is made in France exclusively by Focal since 2013. With their original design, the cone is entirely oriented towards acoustic performance. Flax cone are characterized by their natural sound, with low coloration, their richness of reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass.

With the Kanta series, everything is designed and made to create acoustic softness and warmth, including the density and stiffness of the front panel and cabinet materials, softened angles, and double port vents. The cabinet is made from one-piece integrally molded wood. The front panel is molded in one piece from High-Density Polymer (HDP). This material has excellent performance; it is 70% denser than MDF, 15% stiffer, and provides 25% more damping. The one-piece front panel totally eliminates any sound diffraction. The Zamac base also brings out masses of character. With its spikes and cups, the base provides great stability from a very small footprint. Additionally, the Kanta N°3 incorporates Focal's Powerflow technology with two vents, on the front and rear faces, to limit bass compression.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It is a 8 ohm speaker it should work with a stereo receiver and av receiver?

A: The Bogen A6WHT NEAR A Series Armadillo Speaker is an 8-ohm passive speaker rated for 150W power handling and is compatible for use with amplifier components offering similar specifications from their powered speaker outputs. In theory, a stereo receiver offering similar power output could be used with the A6WHT.

Q: 2. Can this be used, on Camera, with a Sony Burano shooting in 8.6K 30p?

A: Yes, the PORTKEYS LH7H 7" High-Bright Touchscreen Monitor will be able to be used on the Sony Cinealta Burano.

Q: 3. Would these be large enough to use in a gymnasium along with other speakers?

A: These are not PA speakers and not intended to be used in a live situation. They are studio monitors and are designed to be used in a production studio.

Q: 4. If I'm shooting at 4K 60fps, will it show a 30hrz feed, or nothing at all?

A: The camera output would need to be set to 4k 30p. If it is outputting 4k 60p it would be an unsupported framerate when using the PORTKEYS LH7H 7" High-Bright Touchscreen Monitor.

Q: 5. What paper type setting should I use when printing this film on my Epson HD -15000 photo printer?..thanks.

A: Generally this would take some testing. If you see any for film I would start there. Or glossy setting options. I am not seeing Pictorico makes an ICC profile for this particular Epson that I can find but you could also try asking them directly.

Q: 6. How to disasemble the speaker

A: This speaker is not intended to be disassembled by a user. If you need any form of repair or warranty on a broken speaker, we would recommend reaching out to JBL at 800.336.4525.

Q: 7. Are there ICC profiles for this product?

A: No, there are no ICC profiles from Pictorico for the Pictorico Pro Hi-Gloss White Film for Inkjet Printing (8.5 x 11", Letter).

Q: 8. How to adjust different angels for jbl control 30 invisaball?

A: There's a limited range, but under the label tag is a slot to insert a long Allen wrench. Once loosened you can adjust the speaker mount and re tighten, if you loosen it too much it can slide out so go slowly.

Q: 9. If I want to power this monitor with D-Tap, does it come with a cable for the barrel jack or should I use a dummy battery cable?

A: The PORTKEYS LH7H 7" High-Bright Touchscreen Monitor does not included a d-tap power cable in either format (DC or Dummy battery), so if D-tap power is the desired power solution, a cable will need to be purchased separately.

Q: 10. Do these make a static sound when no audio is present?

A: The IK Multimedia iLoud MTM High Resolution Compact Studio Monitor is not inherently subject to self noise while powered on with no audio signal present.
