I purchased this external optical drive because my case doesnt have a spot for an optical drive. Its super great to use to watch movies with and its so light and thin. I really like how simple it is to hook up and operate. Just plug in the provided usb cable and the drive powers on then just press the button to open it and push the drawer back in to close it. 5

ASUS is a brand known to me via my landlord...he's owned an ASUS laptop in the past. It's played all my DVDs and CDs so far, even scratched &/or sunburned ones. Great option to plug-in to your laptop for E drive purposes. Does not play Blu-Ray but since I don't yet own any of those that's not an issue. 5
