A: IOGEAR says: The GCS42UW6 is a plug and play KVM . For help with installation please call support at 866-946-4327. Thank you for choosing IOGEAR

Q: 4. Will this work on a dvd player to connect to a projector?

A: Technically, yes, it could work, but it all depends on the resolution and frame rate your DVD player outputs. If your DVD player outputs a 1920 x 1080/ 60i video signal, then this converter should recognize the signal and converter it to VGA. However, if your DVD player outputs a standard definition or 720p signal via the HDMI connection, this will not work.

Q: 5. is this product UL certified?

A: Iogear lists this with FCC, and CE certifications. They do not provide documentation of UL certification.

Q: 6. Can this KVM switch be controlled via http or other network commands? I am looking to integrate this with Companion.

Q: 7. Hello, I have to connect my vga laptop to my new hdmi TV. This will work ok? thanks

A: This actually goes in the other direction. You would need something like the KanexPro VGA with RCA Audio to HDMI Converter, B&H # KAVGARLHD, instead. https://bhpho.to/2lQLw8S

Q: 9. Does this work on a macbook air?

A: Currently the Console to USB 2.0 Portable Laptop Crash Cart Adapter is not compatible with the Mac OS and will not work with the MacBook Air.

Q: 10. I have an older gateway windows 7 pc only a single gva output. I need a converter to hdmi and a vga splitter to run two monitors?

A: This device simply takes a digital HDMI signal and converts to an analog SVGA output. It will not provide you with any means of running 2 monitors. If you want the same display on 2 monitors you can use a splitter. You will need to buy a splitter that matches whichever output you choose to go with. So, if you buy this device, you will need a splitter that takes a single SVGA input and splits it into 2 XXXX output of your choice. If you are trying to get 2 monitors that Windows (I assume) will see as independent monitors, then you need a graphics card to do so, or device similar to TripleHead2Go (multi monitor adapter). In order to have Windows see independent monitors, you have to have some kind of hardware that will manage 2 monitors (either graphics card, or external graphics processor). I assume you want Windows to see 2 monitors, I recommend a new graphics card to do so.
