Q: 1. Hard Question but what would be the similarities and differences between this mic and a mic like the Audio-Technica 4053 or the Audix SCX-1. Do all of these mics try and achieve the same effect? (because im hoping the BP4025 would be best both outdoor and indoor) . Are all these mics trying to achieve the same effect? If so which is most effective?

A: The Audio-Technica BP4025 X/Y Stereo Field Recording Microphone has some significant differences to the Audio-Technica AT4053b Hypercardioid Condenser Microphone and the Audix SCX1 Studio Condenser Microphone, with the main difference being its X/Y Stereo Pickup pattern. The BP4025 is a great microphone for capturing environmental sounds, ambient audio, or in any scenario where a stereo audio image is desired. The AT4053b and SCX1 are both mono pencil condenser microphones. The AT4053b has a directional, hypercardioid pickup pattern and the SCX1 has a slightly wider cardioid pickup pattern. Both are well-suited for studio and live audio recording and reinforcement applications and less suited for field recordings.

Q: 2. What is the max wattage rating? Can an aputure 600 or 1200 be used with this unit?

A: The Godox Parabolic 128 Reflector Kit (47.2") BH #GOP128KIT is designed for the Godox H1200p and H2400P. The manufacturer does not recommend it for use with any other lights.

Q: 3. Hi If I need to record sound effects and a quiet voice at a distance of 5-30 cm from the capsules, will the stereo image still be clearly present? I mean a clear separation of right and left.

A: Yes, because the Audio-Technica BP4025 X/Y Stereo Field Recording Microphone uses two individual capsules and offers the ability to keep the signal of each capsule independent of the other for individual recording, it will capture a stereo recording and depict a stereo image of the sound source it is oriented towards.

Q: 4. Can you get other adapters to work with this kit ? I have Broncolor primo heads for my fashion packs or Norman LH2400 heads

A: It is possible to mount a Broncolor head with a Primo/Pulso mount using the Godox Strobe Adapter (Broncolor-Mount), BH # GOPFBRM. However, there are no adapters that will allow a Norman LH2400 head to fit. https://bhpho.to/3XPF14l

Q: 5. I bought this mic years ago and used it with mini plug and batteries. If I get the XLR to 5 pin, can it be used powered by the camera? I have a Canon XF400

A: Absolutely

Q: 6. Hi, would like to ask if the included speed ring is Bowens Mount for all the smdv speedbox?

A: Speed ring is not included.

Q: 7. Can I use this as a mono mic for podcast if I do not connect one of the xlr's?

A: You could in that form just to connect oneside of the mic, just keep in mind that this mic is a condensor mic it still is sensitive and it will pickup ambience from the room if its not acousticlly treated.

Q: 8. I'd like to use this mic on my Canon C70. Is there a XLR 5-pin female to dual mini XLR 3-pin male cable?

A: The BP4025 comes with an XLR 5-pin female to dual XLR 3-pin male Y-cable. We do not a Y-cable with mini-XLR 3-pin male connectors, but you can use adapters to convert standard XLR male to mini-XLR male. The Laird Digital Cinema Premium 3-Pin Standard XLR Female to TA3M 3-Pin Mini XLR Male Audio Adapter (B&H # LARD1XFTA3M) will work or if you prefer longer adapter cables, you can use the Blackmagic Design Set of 2 Mini XLR to XLR Audio Cables for Video Assist 4K - 19.5" (B&H # BLAXLRMINI2). Both of these options will convert the standard XLR male connector to mini-XLR male for compatibility with the C70 mic inputs.

Q: 9. Is it possible to get a shorter cable for this mic?

A: Yes, shorter XLR 5-pin female to dual XLR 3-pin male cables are available. The cable included with the miic is 5-feet long. We do have a 6-inch Sennheiser ACS5 5-pin XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y Cable (B&H # SEACS), an 18-inch Remote Audio 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual XLR Male Y-Cable (B&H # RECAXSTE), and a 4.9-foot Lewitt DTP 40 Trs - 5-Pin XLR Female to Dual 3-Pin XLR Male Audio Cable (B&H # LEDTP40TRS) that will work with the BP4025 microphone.

Q: 10. Which capsules are in this microphone - cardioid or omnidirectional? If you use this microphone to record close quiet sounds and whispers, at a distance of about 5-15 cm from the capsule, will it have a strong effect of proximity and distortion, or will it be normal?

A: The capsules in the Audio-Technica BP4025 microphone are cardioid. This microphone would capture whispers at that distance very nicely.
