Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this unit control pan tilt heads, a cameras zoom and focus control, and a motorized sider?

A: No it can not. it is designed specifically for PTZ cameras.

Q: 2. Can this control the Canon CR-N300?

A: Both products are listed as having VISCA compatibility, however, the Canon camera is listed explicitly as having compatibility with the Canon branded RC-IP100.

Q: 3. Can this unit control Lumens Cameras vc-a61p ? which features are lost and which kept ?

A: We always recommend that people use Controllers designed by the same manufacturer as the camera they intend to use to simplify set up and reduce troubleshooting issues. That being said This controller uses all the same protocols as the Lumens Cameras VC-A61p therefore it should have control over all the features of the camera.

Q: 4. Will this work correctly to control the AViPAS cameras over IP? Model AViPAS AV-3104IP

A: The short answer: Yes it can but we only recommend using this controller with PTZ Optics Cameras. While it is possible to use this controller with other NDI and IP cameras we cant guarantee full functionality (such as adjusting white balance color shading etc). Most of our customers that try to cross brands on IP based solutions (even in an instance like this where they both support VISCA over IP protocols) have experienced problems. For experienced IP professionals there are ways around the limitations to make this work with most IP based PTZ cameras. For people who are just starting out (or want a set up with low maintenance) we recommend matching PTZ cameras with controllers designed by the same manufacturer.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Panasonic AW-HE120K?

A: Yes, the PTZOptics SuperJoy NDI|HX/IP & Serial PTZ Camera Joystick Controller does support the RS-422 Protocol required by the Panasonic AW-HE120K HD PTZ Camera.

Q: 6. Has anyone used multiple of these cameras with OBS?

A: Yes, you could definitely use multiple JVC KY-PZ200 HD PTZ Remote Camera with 20x Optical Zoom (White) (B&H# JVKYPZ200WU) cameras in OBS for streaming. We would assume you'd want to use an HDMI capture device to get the video into your computer such as an ATEM like the Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini HDMI Live Stream Switcher (B&H# BLSWATEMMINI): https://bhpho.to/3hOwAn1

Q: 7. How many preset memory positions can be saved?

A: The following unit offers 9x Quick, 4 Super, 255 Total Presets.

Q: 8. so video and control over ip?

A: This product is only a PTZ controller it can not process video. For example if you have 3 PTZ cameras this controller can command each of those cameras to Pan Tilt or Zoom but it does not have access to the IP video feed therefore it can not switch between video signals or broadcast the video signals to a destination. If you want to switch between, record, or broadcast video signals from IP cameras you will need to use a software such as vMix HD Live Production, Streaming & Mixing Software (B&H # VMSCSIVMIXHD MFR # SCSI-VMIX-HD)

Q: 9. Hiw does the hdmi out produce a video signal? Is the controller decoding the ip signal?

A: It is, indeed, decoding the Program and RTSP output via HDMI.

Q: 10. Do this work with ClearOne Unite 200 camera ?

A: Yes, this controller is compatible with the ClearOne Unite 200 PTZ Camera.

This is a versatile timer and is an essential item for successful landscape photography. It is indispensable for night photography when the exposure time of the order of a few minutes. There is a cheaper version of the cable release available from Canon but the TC-80N3 has several additional features.

It's not often that I give any product a 5 Star rating, but on few and very far in between cases there comes along a product/tool in my case, that I purchase because I feel it will vastly improve the quality outcome of the photo's I sell. As a Photographer shooting Landscapes requires the camera to be set still on a tripod when ever possible to steady the camera so there is no shaking or movement. Yet in the last step of taking that shot requires the pressing of the Shutter Button, in which no matter how delicately done, it can cause camera movement thus the possibility of the final picture being ever so slightly blurry. This can result in the Photographers many hours of set up, shooting, and take down a complete waste of time. This is where the Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3 exhibits Its worthiness. The step-by-step, clear drawn illustrations, and simply put Instructions in the Instruction Manual made a huge impression on me because I went through all of the MODES and phases for use of the Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3 from beginning to end and didn't make one mistake. This must be a record for me because I can't recall any instruction manual for any mechanical or electronic device that I've purchased and used where it hasn't taken me at least 3 reads and tries to fully operate the device and even then I needed the instruction manual by my side or I'd get lost. As a Professional Photographer I shoot mostly Landscapes and Nature scenes. The Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3 is essential equipment I must have with me when I go out on any Photography work. I'm glad to have a partner like this with me, it makes photography a lot more fun and exciting for me.

I decided to pay extra for the 'real thing' instead of a Chinese knock-off because I've been burned by poor quality several times prior. I'm happy to say I've already dropped this several times and it is still working perfectly. I got this item to try my hand at current time-lapse work popularized by Philip Bloom and timescapes .org. It does the job. Because I am slow it took me several confused minutes to realize that I had to press the start/stop button before the gadget would work. Instruction pamphlet is practically useless.

I use the Canon timer remote for time lapses, landscapes, waterfalls and for night photography. This is an excellent tool to use because you couldn't do the techniques mentioned up above without it... it's a no-brainer. Cost is quite high, but in the end you pay for quality. Canon knows this product is in high demand and they're going to bank on it.
