Q: 9. Would EF lenses like the Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 or the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens provide a wider pattern on the background than the 100mm that comes standard? Also, would their focusing rings serve to focus the beam since the standard lens actually moves within for focus?

A: According to Westcott, when using the Westcott Optical Spot by Lindsay Adler for Broncolor, you may attach any EF mount lens onto the Optical Snoot. The aperture will stay open at its widest point, and you will be able to focus the lens using the focus ring on the lens. As such, the Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 Lens for Canon EF, B&H # YOYN35MMF2, and the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens, B&H # CA5018EFSTM, should both work on the Westcott Optical Spot by Lindsay Adler for Broncolor.

Q: 10. 1) Looking at the specs, can this be used with a Profoto D2 1000 Ws at up to power 9.2 with proportional modeling light? 2) Best used with flat glass or dome?

A: Unfortunately, this Optical Spot is not recommended for use with a Profoto D2 1000 monolight. Otherwise, it can be used with a D2 500 watt/sec monolight with the flat glass installed.
