I bought them for my daughter who is studying film and she needed some headphones that reproduced accurately for sound editing. We chose this because they were recommended by of one of the employees in the showroom. My daughter loves them and says they are a huge improvement over what she was using before. You probably can get better ones at a different price point but in this price this pair sounded very good and didn't exaggerate any of the frequency ranges. Another plus was getting the leather earpads for free. 5

These are essentially copies of the Sony MDR-V6 headphone that I first bought in the 70s. They were (and are) popular among the audio engineers that mixed many of the more popular rock albums of the rock era. I have a particular affinity for them. The SMH-1000 is even better because of the cord set up. It comes with a long cord and a short cord, both locking.. The original Sony cord is very long and, although perfect in some situations, can really be in the way at times. I used to cut the cord and use extensions. The Senai phones do away with that problem. Kudos. 5

2nd Pair after old ones wore out after 5 years of near daily use. Perfect field monitors for those who do not like Sony. Sound is even balanced bass and highs and not colored, probably as close to a true studio monitor as you can get in this price range. Ear cushions are soft for all day use, but easily replaced with even better ones if you prefer. Cords removable and replaceable. 5
