Kolari Vision Fe Clip-in Uv/ir Cut Hot Mirror Filter For Sony E-mount

Compatible with most Sony E-Mount cameras, the FE Clip-In UV/IR Cut Hot Mirror Filter for Sony E-Mount from Kolari Vision can be used to add rear filtering to most lenses. This filter consists of professional-level optics fitted into a CNC-machined aluminum magnetic frame, designed with maximum lens compatibility in mind. This one-size-fits-all filter solution also works great with lenses that don't have filter threads, and it can also be used alongside external lens filters for multiple layers of filtration. The filter is designed to normalize a camera when it has had either a full-spectrum or 2-spectrum modification. In either case, it allows light to pass normally to the sensor to produce normal photos. A spectrum-modified camera is one in which the camera's native low-pass filter is removed in order to support certain IR filters for IR photography. If you have such a camera, this hot mirror filter will let you take normal photos without having to make any changes to the spectrum modification. The filter blocks IR light and some UV light, the same way the native low-pass filter that was removed from the camera during modification would have. The filter requires no exposure compensation. The anti-reflective and anti-smudge hard coatings increase light transmission while reducing flares and ghosting. The coatings are hydrophobic, dust-resistant, and scratch-resistant, making cleaning and upkeep nearly effortless.
Please note that the Sony a1, a7C, and a7C II bodies require a separately available magnetic mounting plate to work with magnetic clip-in filters.

Q: 1. Is it compatible with canon 5d3??
A: No, the Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM Lens is not compatible for use on the Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR camera.
Q: 2. Does this lens have manual focus available? I am wondering that If I use ND filter, how it still be able to auto focus? Please help and Thank you!
A: All lenses designed for the Sony E-mount have the capability to be focused manually. The Sony Vario-Tessar T* FE 16-35mm f/4 ZA OSS Lens has both a zoom ring and a focus ring on the lens, and the camera on which the lens is used may be set to either autofocus or manual focus, depending on your needs. Also, depending on the strength of your neutral density (ND) filter and the current ambient light level, autofocus may be possible, but if you are using a strong ND filter or working in low lighting, you may need to first pre-focus with the camera in manual mode before attaching the filter to the lens to capture your image.
Q: 3. does this fit on a SOny fx9?
A: This lens fits on Sony E mount full frame cameras. I have mine on a Sony A7III. I hope this helps.
Q: 4. is any teleconverter compatible with this Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM Lens?
A: As far as I know, there is no teleconverters on the market for this particular lens. The two teleconverters that are designed for the 70-200mm are only compatible with that lens.
Q: 5. Step-down filter-thread ring (77 to 72mm) to avoid buying a new super-expensive Zeiss Polarizing-filter(a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/197714-REG/Heliopan_700405_700405_Step_Down_Ring.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/197714-REG/Heliopan_700405_700405_Step_Down_Ring.html/a)seems more the just doable as I look on my g-Master 85mm since the 77mm seems somewhat oversized, -2.5mm narrower (5mm divided by 2) it looks like it will not jet infringe the light-pass of this mild tl.. Any strong points of view against this option ?
A: I haven't seen these adapters, interesting idea. 5mm is not a big number, but since the beauty of this lens is its big aperture, I wouldn't want to lose even the small bit of light that i think will result with that collar on.
Q: 6. Does the OSS work well with IBIS for video?
A: Yes, the ibis and lens oss work in tandem and do a great job, the camera primarily takes over but uses both.
Q: 7. Does it have image stabilization?
A: Yes this does have Optical Steady Shot built into the lens.
Q: 8. Does this lens work with Sony a63000?
A: Yes ... It will work with the alpha 6300 but it was specifically made for full frame e mount cameras ... With the crop factor of the 6300 you will only get 24mm at it's widest point

Q: 10. What polarizer can I use with this that will give me 1) No vignetting and 2) Blue sky will not be uneven (usually on 16mm, blue sky will be thick in middle when using polarizer) ?
A: No polarizer will work because in a wide angle lens the angle of light incidence is beyond the polarizing angle in the corners. Even a huge 6x6 will not stop uneven sky.Its not necessary anyway....skies are evenly darker blue in wide angle lenses...better to use a big graduated filter to bring down the sky brightness to emphasize the foreground detail, and still get beautiful deep sky blue.
