Record interviews and run-and-gun journalism with this WM-300IIC UHF Wireless Lavalier Microphone System from Comica Audio thanks to its 96 auto-scan channels and 534 to 589 MHz UHF wireless frequency range. The system includes one beltpack transmitter and one dual-channel receiver with 1/4 wavelength external antennas. The units communicate from up to 393.7' away and sync via IR signal. Audio is recorded via lavalier microphone, which inserts into the transmitter's 3.5mm TRS locking input. Also included with the system is a 3.5mm TRS to XLR cable to use your preexisting handheld microphone.

LCD screens on each component display connectivity, battery status, and other status indicators. Switch between mono and stereo modes, toggle the two-grade, low-cut filter and denoise, or control the 16-level gain up to +15 dB using the onboard buttons. A headphone output on the receiver allows you to monitor your audio while you record. USB-C charging ports on each component recharges the built-in batteries after their 14-hour runtime depletes. Included with the system is a furry windscreen for the lavalier and a hard case to carry it all to your shoot.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do both channels have to be either line or mic level? I want one signal from the sound board (line) and one from the presenter (mic)

A: Yes you can have line level going to one transmitter with mic level signal going into the other transmitter.

Q: 2. Is the BoomX-U better than BoomX-D?

A: The two systems are similar in that both are wireless microphone systems, but each operates in a different manner. Determining which system is better will depend on your specific needs and the types of strong wireless audio frequencies that are already in use within the location where the system will be used often. The BoomX-U is an analog wireless system which operates within the UHF frequency band between 568 to 579 MHz and offers 48 frequencies to choose from to avoid wireless signal interference. It has an operating range of up to 394'. The built-in rechargeable batteries for the UHF system provide up to 6 hours of operation. The BoomX-D is a digital wireless system which operates within the 2.4 GHz band (2400 to 2483.5 MHz) above the range of radio and TV, but within the range of Wi-Fi signal. Only one other wireless BoomX-D can be used at the same time. It has an operating range of up to 164' and its built-in rechargeable batteries provide up to 5 hours of operation. The advantage of a 2.4 GHz systems is that they can be used in most countries around the world while regulations for UHF frequencies vary. Within the US, the UHF system offers more frequencies to switch between, the ability to use more of the same wireless mic systems, and a longer operating distance between the transmitter and receiver. Q: 3. Can I use 2 of these systems on one camera and have 4 separate audio channels? If I plug one receiver in XLR 1 and the second receiver in XLR 2 can I separate all 4 channels of audio for 4 people in one camera?

A: Yes, you can use two WMX-20-DUO systems at the same time on the same camera, but you would have two audio tracks, not four. Each receiver outputs one signal with the combined audio from its two mics. Also, the camera only records two audio tracks, not four. If you do need to have four separate audio tracks, it would be best to use individual wireless systems for each person and capture the audio on a multi-track recorder. The audio and video can be synced in post production.

Q: 4. Can the gain of each microphone be adjusted independently by the receiver?

A: Yes. : Dedicated gain buttons on the receiver allow quick and effortless adjustment of the signal level for each microphone independently.

Q: 5. I've used 4 persons simultaneously with no problem. My question is, is it 16 or 24bit?

A: The Comica Audio BOOMX-U does not have a recording function, so no analog to digital conversion occurs. As such, the bitrate of your recording would be determined by your recording device.

Q: 6. are the batteries replaceable?

A: No, these have built in batteries.

Q: 7. I'm having trouble finding the manufacturer's website for these. Anybody got a link?

A: https://www.comica-audio.com/

Q: 8. How to adjust volume on actual mic

A: At this time, we can not find an available manual for this item to guide you. In general for most wireless systems, there should be a level control option in the menu of the receiver where you would adjust the output signal up or down.

Q: 9. can you use other microphones with these like a countryman b3 with non locking 3.5mm?

A: Yes, you can upgrade to any Lav (not wired for Sony) wih a 3.5mm connector.

Q: 10. Can I use any mic with this like a tram, sanken, DPA?

A: Yes, it is possible to use different microphones with the Comica Audio BoomX-U QUA Ultracompact 4-Person Wireless Microphone System for Mirrorless/DSLR Cameras as long as the microphone has the appropriate 3.5mm TRS locking connector and wiring, and does not require more voltage than the transmitter is able to supply. The Tram TR-50 and Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Microphones that are wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters should both work, and certain DPA models may also work with the Comica transmitters, depending on their voltage requirements.
