Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with an IPhone 12? If so, will I need accessories: which one(s)?

A: Yes. Provided that a battery is installed in the Senal AND you have the appropriate cable, such as B&H # SALCXLR (XLR to Lightning) to connect to the iPhone 12.

Q: 2. Can this connect into my 5d Mk III without using a Tascam device as a middle-man?

A: The Rode NTG-2 is able to be powered via AA battery, and with the included Kopul LMT-100 cable, an be connected directly to the input of the Canon 5DmkIII.

Q: 3. how do i change the battery in a NTG-2 microphone?

A: The bottom third of the microphone unscrews and the battery can be changed from in there.

Q: 4. Is the xlr to mini cord compatible with a 3.5mm jack? Like, could I just just use that cord and connect it straight to my camera through the microphone jack?

A: Yes that's what that cable is for. Mini is just another name for 3.5mm.

Q: 5. Will I have any issues using this with the Tascam 70D?

A: Nope. This has worked great for me with this combo. If you're using phantom power though, the 70D is a battery hog so I also use an external USB battery to power the 70D with phantom running the mic. I haven't tried the battery in the mic yet to compare results.

Q: 6. Can this work on BLUESHAPE'S D-TAP or are these two different types of power? Thanks.

A: Yes it will work, it converts to the proper voltage for the camera, A7S etc. Just plug it into the battery in the D-tap socket.

Q: 7. Is this Mic compatible with the Canon G40?

A: Yes. You will use the XLR to Mini transformer cable that is part of the kit.

Q: 8. What is the output on this? I'm concerned about it outputting more than the camera can handle.

A: This is a D-tap connector, if you have a battery base, it controls the input, moreover there is a DC surge controller in the middle (on this connector) to control any power surges. Mine works pretty well for all day shoots, I have a Movcam Battery Base and Lan Parte batteries to go with it.

Q: 9. Is this mic stereo?

A: No, it's mono. It can be split to stereo depending on your recorder and editor. Cheers!

Q: 10. What is the minimum equipment required to get this working with my Panasonic GH4? Just and XLR to TRS 3.5mm converter?

A: Yes! If your using an on camera solution.
