Record interviews and run-and-gun journalism with this WM-300IIA UHF 2-Person Wireless Lavalier Microphone System from Comica Audio thanks to its 96 auto-scan channels and 534 to 589 MHz UHF wireless frequency range. The system includes two beltpack transmitters and one dual-channel receiver with 1/4 wavelength external antennas. The units communicate from up to 393.7' away and sync via IR signal. Audio is recorded via lavalier microphone, which inserts into each transmitter's 3.5mm TRS locking input.

LCD screens on each component display connectivity, battery status, and other status indicators. Switch between mono and stereo modes, toggle the two-grade, low-cut filter and denoise, or control the 16-level gain up to +15 dB using the onboard buttons. A headphone output on the receiver allows you to monitor your audio while you record. USB-C charging ports on each component recharges the built-in batteries after their 14-hour runtime depletes. Included with the system is are furry windscreens for the lavaliers, a 3.5mm TRS to XLR male cable, and a hard case to carry it all to your shoot.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the gain of each microphone be adjusted independently?

A: Yes, each mic has it's own gain adjustment.

Q: 2. Can you get lav cardioid transmitters with tie clips & handheld units?

A: At this time, we do not have a current cardioid lav option compatible with this Nady system.

Q: 3. Can 2 or 3 of these rack units be used at the same time? Have a school play where at least 16 mices will be needed.

A: You can use multiple Nady 8W-1KU wireless systems at the same time. The system's 1000 user-selectable frequencies with auto-scan enable you to easily locate clear operating frequencies for each of the eight independent receivers, so it should be possible to use two or three systems simultaneously.

Q: 4. I have a zoom h4n... how can I connect the R and L separated channels from the reciever to each XLR plug (R and L respectively) of my Zoom recorder?

A: You can use the Saramonic SR-UM10-CC https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1443723-REG/saramonic_sr_um10_cc1_locking_3_5mm_male_to.html

Q: 5. I'm having trouble finding the manufacturer's website for these. Anybody got a link?

A: https://www.comica-audio.com/

Q: 6. Does it make sense to pair these with a 32bit-float recorder? or rather: do they transmit 32bits to the receiver so a zoom F6 would get the full dynamic range?

A: The 32bit aspect of the Zoom F6 allows for extremely high headroom while recording. This means that regardless of how high or low your audio signal being recorded is, the audio can be turned up or down after the fact to be usable. The type of audio being sent to the F6 does not impact the bit rate of the recorder. It would be a fine pairing in general.

Q: 7. Can I use any mic with this like a tram, sanken, DPA?

A: Yes, it is possible to use different microphones with the Comica Audio BoomX-U QUA Ultracompact 4-Person Wireless Microphone System for Mirrorless/DSLR Cameras as long as the microphone has the appropriate 3.5mm TRS locking connector and wiring, and does not require more voltage than the transmitter is able to supply. The Tram TR-50 and Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Microphones that are wired for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters should both work, and certain DPA models may also work with the Comica transmitters, depending on their voltage requirements.

Q: 8. Can the gain of each microphone be adjusted independently by the receiver?

A: Yes. : Dedicated gain buttons on the receiver allow quick and effortless adjustment of the signal level for each microphone independently.

Q: 9. Does the UHF version really have a 20ms latency? It seems odd that an analog device would be that slow, especially considering that there is no analog/digital conversion.

A: This system have a time delay, not latency issue, latency is only related to computers and is due to signal input and output compensation. On a wireless system, the signal only travels in one direction. The 20ms time/delay is an average and it is location RF density dependent. in our experience the average time/delay is 3.5ms. for most areas.

Q: 10. I've used 4 persons simultaneously with no problem. My question is, is it 16 or 24bit?

A: The Comica Audio BOOMX-U does not have a recording function, so no analog to digital conversion occurs. As such, the bitrate of your recording would be determined by your recording device.
