Sometimes it's not worth it, but the Samsung 990 Pro was definitely worth it. I'm upgrading from a 980 Pro and the difference in load times is absolutely noticeable. Not to mention my 980 Pro was a 500gb and the 990 Pro is 1tb, so in addition to increasing speed, I doubled storage space. When I say this drive is fast, I mean it's FAST. I will definitely be purchasing the 2tb 990 Pro for my gaming console ASAP. Samsung is absolutely on top of the SSD game right now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always have been a Samsung fan to having their 850 EVO ssd in my old desktop PC to having the Samsung Z Fold, to the galaxy watch and earbuds. I really needed more space on my laptop and this was a perfect upgrade. Installation was simple since this was my first M.2 NVMe ssd, and the use of Samsung Magician software you can use for cloning the drive is great. I could tell that the SSD that came with the laptop vs the 990 pro, once I booted up windows I could tell a difference. I usually have multiple browsers open or gaming on my laptop and with this new gen 4 drive really made things feel really quick. This Samsung 990 Pro was so amazing that I might actually buy the 2TB version for my second slot on my laptop!

Another great product from my favorite company. Most people are missing the best feature , not only is it fast, but it run with 50 percent less power . which mean it will run cooler and perform better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of Samsung drives for a long time due to their excellent reputation, reviews and performance. Indeed, I have had multiple generations of their NVMe M2 SSD drives in both my laptop and desktop PCs, both as system and storage drives, upgrading as new versions were released. Thus, I was excited to install the newest top-of-the-line 990 Pro, and it doesn't disappoint. The installation process is very straightforward, especially if you have experience with these drives in the past. My 2 TB version is showing excellent write and read speeds, moving large files with ease.

I am concerned, however, about recent reports of quicker than expected drive health degradation with increasing use. Time will tell how widespread this problem is, how it will affect my own drive, and what Samsung will do to correct the issue.

Installing it into my system was incredibly easy and quick, thanks to the PCIe express slots, and required very little effort to get into play in my gaming Laptop. It fit like a dream, no size problems at all, and connected seamlessly. This should work easily in a Laptop, modern desktop, or PS5.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially, we got this SSD for our gaming PC but decided to try it in our video game console as well. The results have impressed us so much that we’re now planning to buy another 990 PRO to get the best possible experience from both devices.

It was very easy to install the SSD, only a matter of minutes from start to finish. After we powered everything back up, the system immediately recognized the new drive. The console's speed test showed the drive running at 6561MB/s, which is more than 1000MB/s faster than the suggested minimum.

The 990 PRO works perfectly inside our console, and the massive 2TB capacity lets us keep all our games at the ready, with room to spare. Games load up almost immediately, even a little quicker than when they’re installed on the system’s internal drive.

All in all, we couldn’t be happier with the 990 PRO in our video game console. This is the SSD to get for all your gaming storage needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My current setup has a 970 drive from Samsung, but is only 1TB. So, when given the chance to get my hold on this 990 Pro 2TB I jumped at it! Install is easy as just about any other M.2 NVMe. Quick format later and you are ready to go!

From checking the speeds, I am getting close to the speeds that are reported, which I am happy with. So far, I have done a bunch of tests and the drive is in good health and running well. In the near future, I will be migrating my intensive programs to the drive and will compare boot and load times with the 970 Samsung drive.

Note: Anyone using this drive in a PC/Laptop, I HIGHLY recommend Samsung Magician. It is a piece of software from Samsung that allows you to keep track of your drive, run tests of the drive, and make sure the drive is healthy to keep your data safe!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit I was a little skeptical with the hypes and must haves of getting an external memory for my PS5. Much to my surprise, the Samsung 990 PRO w/Heatsink PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations in every way. I actually started to run out of memory on my console due to the next generation games that requires enormous amount of available hard drive space. The Samsung 990 PRO w/Heatsink PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD was easy to install and I was online gaming again within 5 minutes. I have actually moved 90% of saved data from the console to the Samsung Samsung 990 PRO. It was seamless and I haven’t notice any degradation to the performance while playing. I would get the 2TB version if it was available but the 1TB is offer me much needed additional capacity without having to delete game data to save hard-drive space. It’s a must have if you’re looking to expand your memory to the fullest.
