The M-5GS Tabletop Tripod with G-28S Ball Head from Xiletu is a compact yet versatile tabletop tripod with a load capacity of 26.5 lb and a maximum height of 20.1 inches. It has a very compact design due to the 5-section legs which simply twist to unlock and lock, without external locking joints. Each leg has independent leg spread and three locking angles, plus rubber feet for traction. Each leg also features two 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounts for adding extension arms, compact LED lights, microphones, and more. The head mount platform at the top of the center column also features three more 1/4"-20 accessory sockets, for a total of 9 accessory mounting points for creating a customized rig.

The included G-28S ball head is a feature-rich yet compact head with a 1.1" ball that can be quickly and easily adjusted using the main control knob. The panoramic base has an independent locking knob and a numbered scale for precise movement. It also features a cold shoe mount for adding compatible accessories like a microphone or other devices. The cold shoe can be screwed off, revealing a 1/4"-20 accessory socket. This dual-panoramic head features a classic knob-type quick release clamp to hold the included QR plate securely in place. The clamp platform can be rotated 360° independently of the main ball for easy panoramic shooting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how much does it weigh without the tripod?

A: The manufacturer does not specify a weight with out the stand. With the stand it is about 0.7lbs.

Q: 2. I have a Nikon D750 along with the following lenses - Nikon 24-120mm F4, Nikon 70-300mm F4.5/5.6, Nikon 85mm F1.8G, Nikon 50mm 1.8G, and a Nikon 20mm F1.8. The prime lenses should be ok. Any problem using this tripod with the two zoom lenses?

A: You should be fine except the 70-300 may be a little iffy. Make sure you are on a hard surface, use the delayer shutter release or remote, and use live view to prevent mirror shake. This tripod is great for places that do allow regular tripods, like the new World Trade Center.

Q: 3. Will it work with my D850

A: Hi there! The Manfrotto 492 ballhead and tripod supports a total of 4.4lbs, so as long as your D850 and lens combination does not exceed that amount, it should work beautifully. However, when in use with the 259B extension column, it will reduce the overall stability slightly with such a large camera, so exercise a bit of caution.

Q: 4. will this work for my canon 5d mark iv with 24-70mm lens? do i need something else or does it screw right into the base of the camera?

A: In most use cases this would be sufficient for a Canon 5D Mk IV with a 24-70 f/2.8 (approximately 3.5lbs), but on an uneven surface or at an angle, the resulting torque from the camera/lens combination might overpower the ballhead. With your specific combination, I would also advise against using the Manfrotto 259B extension as it would result in a very high center of gravity, making it prone to tipping over. The camera simply screws into the Manfrotto 492 ball head, but you could consider a quick release system like the Manfrotto 323 to simplify/speed up the mounting process: https://bhpho.to/39OdhHl

Q: 5. This set comes in a little bag? or not? I did not see any picture of a bag..

A: Yes, it comes with a case.

Q: 6. How low to the ground does it get?

A: It goes as low as 12 inches.

Q: 7. How much does this weigh without the ball head?

A: I have contacted K&F and they are unable to provide the weight of the K&F Concept BA225 Carbon Fiber Tripod without the Ball Head.

Q: 8. What is the internal diameter? Thanks!

A: The opening is 4 1/4" in the center

Q: 9. Is the quick-release mechanism compatible with standard Arca Swiss style plates?

A: Regarding the K&F Concept BA225 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Ball Head, yes, the quick release mechanism is compatible with standard Arca-Swiss-style plates.

Q: 10. Can the ball head be removed or is it permanently attached?

A: On the TT-15B model, the ball head cannot be removed. If you want to be able to remove it, I recommend the regular TT-15 with the CB-30D ball head - this is basically what you are looking for.

What a terrific little tripod this is. Beautifully engineered and built, very sturdy and stable for it's size. Comes with a nice carrying bag as well. I am using it with a Nikon D850 and battery pack, no problem. Excellent for macro or just general tabletop photography work. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this tripod and service provided by B&H.

This is the sturdiest tripod I have ever been fortunate to use. I have a heavy camera with a longer lens, it works great. I also use it for my spotting scope, wonderful.

What, another tripod? This one allows low-to-the-ground pictures - lower than I can take with my full-size Gitzo. And it accepts Arca-type plates, so you don't need to swap tripod plates just to mount your camera on it. Also has a good weight capacity.
