The Ocean Way Audio HR5 is a single, active two-way reference speaker designed to provide highly accurate monitoring with 100° horizontal dispersion for an ultrawide sweet spot, making it well suited for use in home and project studios for production, mixing, and mastering applications. Created by legendary speaker designer Allen Sides, the HR5 provides precise imaging and components that deliver a ±1 dB matching performance over a wide 45 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range.

A unique dual/hybrid waveguide system based on the speakers at Ocean Way Recording and engineered using 3D modeling ensures accurate, wide-frequency dispersion over a remarkable 100 x 40° pattern. In the mixing environment, this ensures consistent stereo imaging and accurate tonal qualities and balance throughout the room, not just in the ideal mixing position between two monitors. Milled from solid blocks of wood, the constant directivity horns for the HF and mid bands are non-resonant for greater efficiency with less distortion, even at high volume levels.

A 125W amp powers the 7" low-frequency driver, which features a light cone and aluminum voice coil to deliver a fast transient response. The high frequencies are handled by a 1" silk dome tweeter powered by a 90W amp. With a 110 dB peak output level, the HR5 delivers plenty of power for loud mixing sessions. XLR analog and digital inputs are provided and the speaker supports resolutions up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the battery be replaced/swapped out in the field?

A: Unfortunately not, the internal battery for the Midland GXT67 Pro GMRS Two-Way Radio is not user replaceable.

Q: 2. The FCC authorizes 22 channels for FRS and GRMS. A small number of radios provide an additional 8 GMRS repeater channels. Does this radio provide repeater channels? In any case, where does the 38 channel figure come from?

A: The T77VP5 is an FRS radio and does not have repeater channels. The additional channels (23-38) are channels with hard-coded privacy codes attached to them. The manual provides more detailed information.

Q: 3. What else do I need to purchase to work with full face motorcycle helmets?

A: In addition to this system, Midland recommends the AVP-H2 Helmet kit.

Q: 4. What is the transmit power watts ?

A: The T77VP5 is rated a little under 2 watts, so it can be sold into Canada as well as the US.

Q: 5. Is there a compatible headset (one ear covered by speaker) with VOX boom mike for the GTX1000VP4?

A: There are several different headsets that will work with this model. The AVP1, AVPH3, & AVPH4 are among the best ones.

Q: 6. What is the height of the HD2A?

A: The height is 4.5".

Q: 7. The specs indicate GMRS channels are 1-7 and 15-22. What are the uses for channels 8-14 and are there any channels beyond 22?

A: Channels 8-14 on the Midland MicroMobile MXT275 15-Channel Two-Way GMRS Radio are only allowed up to 0.5 watts of power by the FCC. Since the MXT275 is not capable of transmitting at such a low power, these channels have been removed from the radio. The FRS/GMRS frequency range has a standard 22 channels.

Q: 8. hi, Can this be used in Singapore?

A: All two-way radios will work anywhere, however they may not be legal there. This radio is only authorized to be used in the United States. You would have to check with the government of that country to make sure the channels and frequencies are legal and public to use.

Q: 9. Can I use it like an gimbal head ? Can I lock the horizon and just move up and down with circle move ?

A: It may be the closest head to a gimbal but you will achieve much results with a gimbal head as far as tracking and smoothness of motion.

Q: 10. Can this charge the PLUS version of the DJI Mini 3 Pro Battery?

A: Yes. The DJI Two-Way Charging Hub for Mini 3 Pro Batteries will also charge the plus version of the DJI Mini 3 pro battery.
