I do a lot of hiking, with pretty much nothing but hills. These legs have been great at adjusting to the very fluid land changes that I have to deal with. They're very sturdy and extremely adjustable. A portion of the center column unscrews so that you can get the tripod even closer to the ground, which I've found useful on occaison. It also comes up to a nice height, I'm 6 feet and with a head on it, it comes right to eye level without extending the center column which is very convenient. The multiple levels have been amazing to me for taking landscape shots. Some may find it heavier than they would like for long hikes, but it doesn't botther me too much. My biggest con would be the bag that comes with it (very thin and doesn't stay positioned on my shoulder or back very well) but it's still a small complaint.

A full sized tripod for a six footer, stands comfortably tall.It is heavy roughly the same weight as a055XB pro & just as stable. Build quality is great too. It holds my 5D with grip,580EXII & Canon 70 200 f4IS with 1.4X TC very stably. I use it with a Cullmann Magnesit 35NM, a superb value combo which can hold just about heavy weight telephoto .

If you need a taller tripod without having to raise the centre column and want it to be strong and well built and reasonably priced, look no further. This unit is not as heavy as everyone seems to be noting considering how sturdy it is. I can and do travel with this tripod, it is the only one I have that can keep my 600mm Canon lens steady in a breeze and it's legs come together at the bottom when extended to allow the unit to act as a monopod.

I use this tripod together with an 501hdv head for my XH A1. Not to heavy. Bag included. the only downside I found is the stability of the extended middle column, it starts to become a little unsteady when extended. I guess it would be perfect for still photography but for the price I paid I'm more than happy.

It's really strong, sturdy, and fairly inexpensive. I looked at others that were more expensive that I was less impressed with.

This is a great tripod base. I got it to use with a NN3 Pano head. It is very stable and easy and fast to level. I would recommend this to anyone that wants a great sturdy tripod.

Not a light one for sure. But not heavy either. Great construction. Can be used as a monopod. Can be inverted to take pictures looking down. Good height.

I'm a student filmmaker/videographer, as such a good tripod is needed. After hours of searching and reading reviews I settled on these legs and I must say it was a great choice. They're very sturdy, and heavy. Some may consider the weight a con, but I rather like it. Overall, a great value!

This tri' is an excellent choice if you're looking for a sturdy pod, for a decent price tag. It has some weight to it, but nothing that I would complain about. It comes with a carrying bag which suites my need, though it be a little thin (no big deal). I have this paired with a Mfrotto 322RC2 head and couldn't be happier. Holds a 50D with 70-200 very well. Compared to my Mfrotto 055XPROB tripod, this one matches up quiet well. It doesn't have the fancy column like the 055X, but I really don't need that. If you need a nice sturdy tripod, but don't want to spend a million, give this one a go.

Built like a Brick_____ House!!! This is exactlly what was advertised and spec'd by the manufacture also. No complainats at all!! Except I would have looked into more before I bought a Cheap Very Cheap TRIPOD....from the local BIGSTORE. (would have saved me $25.00)...
