On the THS 3, the left volume control is used to adjust the volume of the left earpiece and the right volume control is used to adjust the volume of the right earpiece. The controls on the THS 4 are used to adjust the input volume levels for input 1 and input 2 before the signal feeds to the input assignment switches. The controls on the THS 3 affect the volume level after the signal passes through the input assignment switches.
