This is an ARRI Full Double Scrim that fits the 650W Fresnel, Arrisun 2, HMI 200W or any fixture that accepts a 6 5/8" accessory. Scrims are metal screens mounted in a metal frame. They are placed in front of a light to reduce light intensity. ARRI makes four different types of scrims:

  • Full Single: This scrim covers the entire lightface and reduces the intensity of the entire light beam.

  • Full Double: This scrim covers the whole face of the light. It has two metal screens in it, reducing light intensity by two times the amount of the full single.

  • Half Single: This scrim only covers half of the lightface reducing half of the light intensity.

  • Half Double: This scrim is the same as the half single but reduces light intensity twice as much.

Q: 4. How many Lumen does the Arri 650 put out? I most often use the Arri 650 but I'm switching to LED's and want to find out which LED's put out a similar amout of lumen.

A: This Mole Richardson https://bhpho.to/2MY1xbC measures on a light meter very similarly to a 650w tungsten fresnel. Overall the ratio from LED to tungsten is about 5:1 when comparing similar fixtures. Fresnel to fresnel or softbox to softbox. 100w LED is about 500w tungsten.

Q: 5. Will this work on Mole Richardson 650?

A: Yes, the ARRI FRK Lamp (650W/120V) will work with the Mole Richardson 650.

Q: 9. I want to use this with a 220v bulb. What do I need as far as power conversion to make this work from an American 120V Edison power supply? Will a standard power converter work or do I need something different?

A: The ARRI 650 Watt Plus Tungsten Fresnel (120-240VAC) is a dual-voltage light fixture that is compatible for international usage. As such, all you would need is the correct bulb, the ARRI CP89 Lamp (650W/220V), B&H # ARLF650X, as well as a plug adapter to convert the US 3-prong plug to the plug used in your country. You did not indicate in which country the light fixture is to be used, so I cannot make a recommendation for a plug adapter, but they should be relatively easy to find.

Q: 10. Is this the standard Tungsten Bulb for an ARRI 650 fresnel?

A: Yes

These are not for small interior shooting as they get very hot, I consider ARRI some of the the best light equipment you could have; this kit is great, very complete, tripoids are very sturdy and the filters are a big plus.

I work with my local church's worship band and with covid, we have had to upscale out video output tremendously and these lights have been a key part in making these videos cinematic. Beautiful flaring and great output just be careful with the lights they get ridiculously hot. For back or dramatic tungsten lighting nothing beats these

My productions company (SquareUp Studios) pretty much always has 4 of these on set at all times. I like some of these LED fresnels but there’s nothing like this classic.
