Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. For the configuration of connecting "1/4" TRS in to XRL out", what is the pinout for the XRL connector? Does it use TRS L or R?

A: The Kopul HMX-2 Humbuster - Dual-Channel Hum Eliminator with XLR and 1/4" Connectors is wired for balanced mono 1/4" TRS connectors, not unbalanced stereo.

Q: 2. How is this cable wired? Is it balanced? I'm looking for T-2, R-3, S-1...

A: The Kopul Stereo Right-Angle 1/8" Male Mini-Jack to XLR Male Cable (1') is balanced as it has 3 conductors.

Q: 3. Can this be used with a dual wireless receiver like the Sennheiser XSW dual wireless system?

A: The Kopul XLR Y Cable (XLR-M to Dual XLR-F) could be used with a pair of wireless receivers, although all audio will be mixed to mono via the single XLR output connector.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Rodelink Wireless system?

A: Absolutely! Works like a charm. Just remember it won't screw down into the mic Reciever unit, so pick a safe spot in your bag/rig to avoid straining the cable.

Q: 5. Can I use this to connect two 1/4 to XLR cables into one XLR on camera?

A: No, you can use it as a output splitter, not an input combiner.

Q: 6. Is there a version of this device that can eliminate hum generated by a turntable ( Pro-ject turntable connected via 2 heavy duty shielded RCA cables to a Denon AVR-X4200W integrated amp; I have tried a number of possible fixes to no avail). Or could this device be used for this purpose with some adaptation?

A: B&H sells adapters and cables like GPR101 or CPR202 that will let you connect your turntable to the Humbuster to the amp. You may also consider picking up 3-to-2 prong grounding adapters to see if that works. There are some turntables that have inherent hum due to build quality or wiring. I hope you get to enjoy your vinyl again soon!

Q: 7. This says 60Hz, is there a model that will work in Pal 50Hz countries?

A: B&H offers only the North American version. We do not offer a different version for use overseas.

Q: 8. If I purchase this, for usage with my H4n, will I still need to buy an attenuator?

A: It would depend on what is being connected to the recorder.

Q: 9. Since this cable has a molded split, how far apart can speakers be placed? How far from the 1/8 jack is the split?

A: I'd say about three feet. The vast majority of the 15' comes after the split. It's way more than I need--I've got a 4 or 5-foot desk and use this cable to connect a couple of Behringer powered speakers to my MacPro (which sits off to one side) for video editing. My plan is to mount the speakers on the wall, probably a little higher than head height, and even after that I'll have plenty of post-split cable left over on each side.Otherwise, the quality seems great. Both the audio from my documentary projects and music from iTunes sound super. It's not Monster cable or some such, but I can't imagine that there's much if any loss of sound quality. I wanted this setup to improve the audio side of my editing, and the cable doesn't seem to take anything away from the speakers. Highly recommended.

Q: 10. Is the length from the Y ? I am looking to put two mics on a single incoming line, 6 feet apart. Will this work?

A: The Kopul XLR Y Cable (XLR-M to Dual XLR-F) is 15" long overall. The manufacturer has not provided a distinction for length either before or after the split, but the Y-junction is approximately halfway down the cable's length.

I have been looking to buy good Y cables for my audio gear, that is high quality and robust. Kopul was my answer. The connectors are well made, and the molted junction gives a better connectivity (lower impedance), and the strain reliefs are amazing. It is a professional Y cable that everyone should carry.

Hi! I was really looking for something that could go from a rode wireless pro into a pro field recorder, and this dangles a bit much in a mixer bag. That's why I also covered my bases with the ALZO 3.5mm Female to Dual XLR Male Stereo Microphone Adapter Cord for Pro Camcorders

Easy to use and seems sturdily built, I needed a couple of these to work Pub Crawls at Casinos.

Purchased to split preamp XLR output signal between 2 cables to headphone and floor speaker amps. I didn't appreciate any degradation of sound quality. Pleased with results at a reasonable price, vs. 2 expensive splitter boxes.

I paid a bit more for the Kopul cable for the higher quality. No loss of sound quality at all.

Added one of these to the audio kit for weddings. Built well like the inverse version and I am sure it’ll hold up just as well.
