Perfect range and performance. Used on a7RIII, a7RIV, a9 and a1. Very fast focus with great detail. About the same weight as Sony 24-70 G master, less than 70-200 G master, and replaced both for me. It will be my primary lens.

I have been shooting with mostly Sony GM or Zeiss lenses for quite a while. I have been waiting for a company to develop a 24-105mm 2.8, but this lens exceeded my expectations. 35-150 is a massive zoom range for something that shoots down to f/2.
The auto focus is fast and accurate. The lens is sharp. The only downside is that it is slightly larger than the 24-70 GM lens, but not my much. The size and weight are definitely a consideration, but when looking at the zoom and aperture range, this was a no brainer for me.

I shot 25 wedding ceremonies, 15 family for for sessions with this on Sony a7 IV. Super fast autofocus, had it out in a rain, sandstorm storm and works perfect no flaws. It's a work horse...100% stays on my a7 IV.

I was skeptical about this lens, but I couldn't pass up a chance that it would be all that I was hoping for. It was REALLY close.

The focal range is incredibly useful for everything I've been able to think of. It's not the widest ... nor is it the longest ... but it is incredibly practical. The images are sharp, the focus is fast, and the ability the customize the lens is next level.

My only complaint if I was forced to list one would be the weight. Paired with a DSLR you wouldn't even think about it. But paired with a lightweight mirror less like the A7c, you definitely feel the lens more than anything else. For me, I got used to it quickly. It doesn't bother me at all on a A7r IV, and on a A7c ... well, that's just the way it is.

In the end I'm glad I made the purchase and now just wondering what Tamron will follow this one up with.

What more can you ask for when shooting an event? 35mm for group shots, 150mm for catching action further away. Really exactly what I've been looking for, and luckily I got the day before an event I was shooting. It performed flawlessly. Great lens!

So far I am very impressed with this lens. It is the perfect blend of wide angle and telephoto. I take a lot of landscapes, sunrise and sunsets. I was using the Sony 24-105 which is great but a little too much wide angle and not enough telephoto. This Tamron really is the perfect lens. Images are crisp and color is magnificent. I am using it with a Sony A7riii, this may end up being the one lens that does it all for me. It was worth the wait. Nothing else like it on the market. Highly recommend this lens.

Its crazy to be able to push in so far in a moments notice. Hybrid shooters dream. Crazy sharp, great bokeh.

A bit heavy if you dont use a battery grip to counter balance the weight, but I don't care, love it.

I have shot with it once so far and it's very impressive. I never felt Tamron would be a lens I would buy, but I'm glad I did! The zoom range is very versatile and covers a lot of ground. Just buy it, you won't be sorry.

Great for: Wedding, Event, Sports, Portrait, hybrid shooting
Not so great for: prolonged gimbal operation
Pros: focal length, aperture, minimal focus breathing, customizable control, fast VXD AF motor, linear MF control, build quality
Minor Con: flare resistance, no stabilization, stiff zoom ring
Conclusion: Absolutely worth 6 months of wait. I would go as far as to say that this is the best third-party lens ever under 200mm focal length and definitely the most innovative Sony E mount lens ever. Paired with 16-35 f/2.8, it got you covered for 99% of scenarios.

I am impressed so far..Have done about 6 shoots with this lens on a A7iii.Crisp, clear images. the AF seems to hunt a bit . But overall this has become my go to lens. Have used it in bight lights and in low light situations...It preforms equally well. the bokeh capability is as good as anything I have used.
