The Leica L-mount Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x Carbon Fiber Anamorphic Lens from Sirui provides a classic anamorphic look in a compact, lightweight form. Ideal for gimbal, stabilizer, drone, and handheld use, this lens produces a wider look equivalent to a 22mm spherical full-frame field of view. It measures only 3.9" in length and features a carbon fiber barrel that reduces the weight of the lens. The lens produces horizontal blue streaks when pointed at a light source, giving your footage a classic anamorphic look.

An image captured in 16:9 is de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio, whereas shooting in 3:2 yields a 2.4:1 final image. The T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, separating your subject from the foreground, and the 10-blade aperture creates oval bokeh effects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. is this lens weather sealed?

A: The Sirui Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x Carbon Fiber Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens is not listed by the manufacturer as being weather sealed.

Q: 2. I see the thread diameter is 62 but on other online shops, I see this exact lens has on of 58 inches. Can you clarify?

A: The Sirui Saturn 50mm T2.9 1.6x Carbon Fiber Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (Sony E, Neutral Flare) has a filter size of 62mm, which is laser etched into the lens.

Q: 3. This lens will work in croped cameras as Sony FX30, it will perform normally being just the smaller FOV the only issue?

A: The Sirui 35mm T2.9 1.6x Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (Sony E) is compatible with full frame sensors, as well as any other sensor, smaller than full frame. On a Sony FX30, this lens would act approximately as if used on a super 35mm sensor.

Q: 4. Is there any difference optically between this version and the venus? Smaller, lighter and cheaper so what's the catch?

A: Sirui and Laowa are completely different lens makers, so there are certainly differences. To determine the main optical differences, it is suggested to reach out to the manufacturers to get more technical data for them.

Q: 5. With the DL Mount, are the iris and focus controls on the Ronin 4D compatible with these lenses (without the DJI motor)?

A: No, the lenses in the Sirui Saturn T2.9 1.6x Carbon Fiber Full-Frame Anamorphic 2-Lens Set (DJI DL, Neutral Flare) are manual lenses, so you would need to use an external motor to remotely manipulate the focus and iris.

A: The original version of the Sirui 35mm T2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens (#SIVENUSL35) was constructed with aluminum alloy, versus the carbon fiber construction on the newer model (#SISATURNL35N).

Q: 7. Can the C70 desqueeze 1.6x properly in-camera? I don't want to need an external monitor.

A: No, the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera (RF Mount) will not be able to properly desqueeze the Sirui Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x Carbon Fiber Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens' (RF Mount, Neutral Flare) 1.6x squeeze in camera, as the C70 only supports 1.3x and 2.0x desqueeze.

Q: 8. can this lens be used with the .71x speed booster on a c70?

A: No, there isn't a speed booster that will adapt an RF lens, like the Sirui 35mm T2.9 1.6x Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (Canon RF), on to the RF mount on the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera (RF Mount), B&H # CAEC70.

Q: 9. Is there a way to desqueeze the photo while shooting outdoor; a specific monitor with 1.6 desqueeze factor.

A: When shooting outdoors with the Sirui 35mm T2.9 1.6x Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (Sony E), displays that have a custom de-squeeze feature, like the PORTKEYS LH7P (B&H # POLH7PB), would allow for a 1.6 setting. This feature offers anamorphic image de-squeeze with all the standard ratios (i.e. 1.33x, 1.5x, and 2.0x) and the possibility to enter a custom aspect ratio from 0.25 to 4.0x.

Q: 10. Will this lens allow use of auto focus? I have an FX3

A: No, this is a manual focus lens.

The legs lock well, and it's well built and light. It collapses small enough to throw in the pelican case with the rest of the kit.

I haven't any problems with stiffness, and I'm using it with a fairly heavy setup, Fuji X-T4 200mm F2. I'm not tall though.

I'll start with a summary of the P-326: it's a VERY compact and lightweight. It is a well built monopod that doubles as a hiking stick and can handle larger camera gear.

I purchased the Sirui P-326 to replace a Pro-Master mp528c carbon fiber monopod with similar specs that was lost. I loved the Pro-Master, but the Sirui is just superior in many respects; I expect to love it much more.

To compare; both monopods are very sturdy and work very well as hiking sticks. They are both light weigh carbon fiber monopods with non-removable feet and telescope down to a good compact size. They can double as walking sticks as both are rated for 20 lbs of weigh or more. They both have a metal spike that extends from the rubber foot. Both have reversing 1/4 3/8 thread screw mounts for cameras, ball heads, or my favorite Manfrotto tilt head with quick release plate especially designed for monopods.

BUT --The Sirui has the following advantages.
-It's about 40% cheaper!
-It's shorter at less than 16 inches. This makes it short enough to put -in any standard backpack with ease.
-It's lighter at .9 LB. For someone with arthritis, this is a big plus!
-It's extends to 61 inches. I'm short and don't normally need the extra length, but I also hike and the added height is often helpful on slopes.
-The top-plate is better quality. The hard plastic almost feels like metal. I feel very secure attaching my cameras to this monopod.
-It comes with a compass and carbiner. OK, not necessities, but still nice since I'll often use it for hiking.

There are only two very minor downsides. First is that the hand strap doesn't have a cinch to adjust the height. Never the less, I still find it comfortable. The second is Sirui's not always honoring warranties because they say sellers were unauthorized. I was able to register my monopod (obviously B&H is authorized!) so that seems to be a non-issue too.

Lightweight, tall enough for a tall guy, and decently priced given the quality.

This is my second Sirui monopod- I don't think there is a better value for the money. It's very lightweight, strong, and holds a pretty heavy lens (300mm 2.8f). Folds down very easily and fits nicely in my camera bag. Very happy with it and the Sirui one I had before.

The Sirui P-326 is a hidden gem. It gets consistently high ratings in photography forums and on Amazon. It is a high quality product and compares favorably to the much more expensive brands. It easily supports my Nikon D500 and 500mm f/4 prime lens. Save yourself some money and grab one of these before they're gone. You won't be disappointed.

I'm 6'2"" and want to use it for birds so it's a little short. I may add an extender. I've put lock tight on the threads to mount the Wimberly head as I've had the camera and 200-500 flop around a couple time's, also put thread lock on my Arca Swiss mount on the lens shoe. The combo has been great for trail walks extended with camera slung over my shoulder.
