A: Yes, the Nikon MC-DC2 is compatible with the Nikon D780 DSLR.

Q: 2. this is ready?

A: It is back ordered and we don't have a definitive solid date, I apologize. Please check back with the link below to see if it changes. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1465327-REG/hiti_87_pbx47_10xt_4x6_media_for_p520l.html

A: Yes, it will work, the Z5 has a dc2 connection.

Q: 4. Well this work for Nikon coolpix p900

A: I dont know the answer.

Q: 5. For a D7100, does the camera have to be in remote control mode to use the remote release cord?

A: In my experience, I simply plug the cord into my D7100 and the remote works. I don't use a different setting or change anything on my camera.

Q: 6. Does this remote release allow for "burst" shooting?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Does this Remote Release Cord have pre-trigger switch (half press/full press) that will allow one to wake or sleep the camera similar to using the camera's shutter release?

A: It does have a delay - and a slider that hold until you release it (so many seconds) to take the image

Q: 8. Does this work with a d7000?

A: Yes, it does. Wonderful for Astro photography

Q: 9. Does this work with the Nikon d3400

A: Investigating the d3400, it appears not. The d3200, which I have and the d3300 definitely take it but the d3400 is not listed.

Q: 10. Is there an exposure limit with this? I believe the cheaper IR remote has a limit of 30minutes but cannot find anything like that about this chorded release

A: There is a physical slider button that holds down the shutter button indefinitely until it is slid back, so I would assume any exposure limit with be in the camera itself.

What is better is than the generic I had was that the generic often got stuck in the shutter open position. This Nikon model does not

Simple release cord. Smaller and lighter than the 10pin cords I've used on my DSLRs. Handy to keep in the tripod bag. Easly locked and unlocked.

A friend recommended B&H Photo to me and I'm glad he did. Purchasing online was easy, prices are competitive, and my gear arrived quickly. I also called for information on another purchase. The person I spoke to was knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. I look forward to a lasting relationship with B&H Photo.

Read many bad reviews about the MC-DC2. They must have been copies or something because the unit I received from BH Photo was perfect. Took it out of the box plugged it in and it worked flawlessly. I read complaints about the plug getting stuck and breaking. None of this occurred. I can't comment about longevity but I feel confident that there will no problems.

The MC-DC2 works very well-as described. The price at BH was the best. I read some negative reviews but I think they may have been copies of the unit which never happens at B&H

I use this when shooting slow shutter speeds to make sure I don't shake the camera. Even with all the image stabilization on todays lenses this is a good investment.

I shoot a lot of landscapes. In order to minimize camera vibrations while on a tripod, I use my camera (Nikon D7100) in 'mirror up' mode. I sometimes use the ML-L3 wireless remote shutter, but I'm paranoid about the battery running out while I'm miles away from 'civilization'. Thus, I picked up this little baby, intending to use it as a backup. However, I now use it as my primary shutter release. It's simple to use (just plug it into the little socket on the camera), and press the button. Actually, you need to press the button twice - once to raise the mirror, and once after the vibrations have died. There's a mechanical locking position for use with long exposures (e.g. bulb).

Once I figured out where on my Nikon P7800 the port was located, I just plugged in this Remote Cord and it worked right away!
