Have you ever wondered why one synthesizer is fabulously inspiring while another leaves you flat? How the simplest of design choices can make radical differences in how a musical instrument is used?

What divides the truly historic from the quickly forgotten? And why your bandmates love one synthesizer while you love another? PUSH TURN MOVE lays out the answers with beauty and stunning clarity.

PUSH TURN MOVE is built around an extraordinary architecture. It moves smoothly from the inner mind of the user to the sounds of electronic music to the ways in which music machines are laid out and designed. It's an intricate tapestry of ideas, weaving together everything from simple lines and planes and curves to revolutions in touch and color and texture.

You'll read about everything from synthesizers, drum machines, and beatmakers to alternative controllers, mixers, and software in a whole new way, they become sensual objects, endlessly intriguing and alluring. For the first time, you can see and truly understand the essence of the fascination they hold for so many artists.

PUSH TURN MOVE is the book that launched Bjooks as a publisher and made visionary author and musician Kim Bjørn a household name in studios around the world. Kim was aided by respected author, educator, and electronic musician Dr. Mike Metlay, who served as Editor and wrote the book's Time section, a retrospective of human-machine interaction going back over 400 years. The book was edited by Mike with his Atomic Words colleague Diana Smethurst, and expert synthesist and author Paul Nagle acted as Editor and technical advisor.

From the Foreword by world-famous synthesist Jean-Michel Jarre to a comprehensive list of references and resources, PUSH TURN MOVE takes the mysterious interaction between us and our synthesizers and opens it up for everyone to admire. If you love electronic music, this book is a must-have title that you'll return to again and again.

Q: 5. Are the specified box dimensions the dimensions for the lightbridge case or the box that the lightbridge case ships inside? I want to see if the kit can be checked luggage without paying for oversized luggage, and the specified dimensions are a couple inches larger than the 62" standard allowance.

A: The given dimensions of 24.4 x 23.7 x 16.5" are for the kit inside its original packaging. While the manufacturer does not publish the dimensions of the case itself, it is most likely just a few inches smaller than what is mentioned for the packaging.

Q: 6. What is the battery charge time?

A: From completely empty the battery will take 2-4 hours to recharge.

Q: 7. What would be a good cartridge for playing 78s on this turntable? I want something that is quick and easy, so that I can quickly change from playing 33s and 78s.

A: 78 RPM cartridges For correct playback fidelity of your 78 RPM records you need to use a cartridge with stylus designed for 78 RPM records. A very common misconception is that you can use a LP stylus for playing 78 records. This is one quick and sure way to damage the 78 record groove. Playing it once is enough. Moreover, the LP stylus is much narrower than the 78 record groove hence the tip will slip to the bottom of the groove where debris has collected for many decades. This results in extraordinarily high surface noise. The LP stylus also sways on either side of the groove wall or misses the groove wall where the sound was recorded. All in all, it's not good for the 78 RPM record, for your LP stylus, and for listening. Q: 8. Does the move pack support interval/delay/sequences to do multiple flashes at specified times? Saw a video showing it on scoro but it's out of my budget (or does the siros 800L?). If it does can you specify each lamp head individually?

A: Hi Cameron, Move 1200L is capable of Sequence (repeating/stroboscopic) flash, but not Alternate or Delay modes, addressing both lamp channels with a single setting. Siros 800L, accommodates Sequence mode standalone, and when using the wifi-based bronControl app for mobile and desktop, you can enable Alternate, Freemask, and Delay modes similar to the capabilities of Scoro.
