A compact Canon imageCLASS model, the imageCLASS MF656Cdw is a multifunction color laser printer designed for small and mid-size businesses. In a small footprint, it provides print, copy, scan, and fax functions. It features a print resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and supports automatic two-sided (duplex) printing. The MF656Cdw has a 250-sheet paper tray and a single-sheet manual feed slot for printing. These both support up to 8.5 x 14" legal size paper. For copying and scanning, the printer has a 50-sheet duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) that supports up to legal size paper and a flatbed that fits up to 8.5 x 11" letter size paper. The copy resolution is 1200 x 1200 dpi, and the scan resolution is 600 x 600 dpi. Scanned documents can be sent to an email or file server.

The ISO average print speed rating is 22 pages per minute (ppm) for color duplex prints in 8.5 x 11" letter size. The first page printout time is 10.3 seconds. The recommended monthly duty cycle is 2500 pages.

Multiple connection interfaces allow for different ways to connect and use the MF656Cdw. The printer has built-in Wi-Fi for a wireless workflow, a USB-B port for connecting directly to a computer, and an Ethernet port for connecting to a network. The Wi-Fi interface allows using the Canon PRINT Business mobile app or the Apple AirPrint, Mopria, and Wi-Fi Direct mobile print services to wirelessly control the printer. You can send print commands from your smartphone or tablet and print material that you have on your mobile device.

Additionally, the imageCLASS MF656Cdw provides a USB-A port for connecting flash drives to print from. Documents in JPG, TIFF, and PDF file types can be printed directly off the flash drive. For onboard navigation, the MF656Cdw has a customizable, 5" color touchscreen that's designed to provide an intuitive user experience.

This printer has made printing so easy. It is always ready to go and it prints very quickly. I can print from my phone or my laptop with a click of a button. This printer also has a very nice, easy to use tablet style screen for when you are by the printer. I would highly recommend this printer. It states it is for small to medium size businesses but i use it at my house. Probably more than I need but I freaking love it. 5

Just purchased the MF656CDW AIO so haven’t done much yet but the basics. When I saw the setup guide was only a few pages, I was a little apprehensive. But everything from unboxing to printing the first copy was amazingly simple. Packaging was well designed and removal was a snap. 30 minutes from start to finish. Within an hour I had installed the program on my desktop, and printed successfully from my two desktops and IPADs, scanned successfully from the unit and my desktop, and copied a document. Didn’t set up the FAX yet, but the features I expect to use most are working great. Wish setup on all the electronics I’ve purchased thru the years had gone this smoothly. 5

The printer is mid size but small for all the features it has. The set up was very easy. Unboxed, plugged in and let it find my WiFi. Can print color from iPhone, iPad , laptop or scan anything! The toner is not bad in price and I’m saving from all the ink I was using with my older printer. I’ve had this printer a month and love it so far! Supports window 10 and 11 as well. Has an easy to read touch screen. 5
