This product not only is on the money for close-up, but handles a diverse range of mutli-flash situations so well. I used the 200's with an 800 and the pop-up on my D700 to cover a very wide group in a night shot and it came out perfect. 5

I use this set up for field forensic work. The fact that it's all wireless is invaluable. I can set the flashes up wherever to createa mini studio. The system has never let me down. MUCH more compact than the other systems on the market. Don't bother with the off brands like Sigma 140. i been there. 5

...It really is like having a mini studio for close up shooting. The R200 flashes work faultlessly with the Su-800 commander. I had to add the ur-5 adapter ring to my kit, because I shoot with Nikon's 60mm macro. I was torn between this close-up system and a ring flash. After buying and shooting with the close-up kit. I am certain that, I made the right choice. I am going to enjoy all the different lighting options, for some time to come. Where a ring flash couldn't have even come close to offering the same choices or possibilities in lighting. My images taken with the close-up system are greatly improved over those taken without it. I can hand hold the camera even in poor lighting conditions and control depth of field as my subject demands. Once the system is in place you never notice it, the weight isn't even an issue. I had bought the Su-800 commander earlier. So I was glad to see, I didn't have to buy it again in the Nikon Close-up system. For Nikon macro photography this system is a must have and it opens a whole new world up of macro subjects with studio lighting effects. 5

We're using it for close up dental photographs and the amount of extra flash is amazing. still learning, but so far so good. less intimidating than the other macro flash we have 5

The R1 system along with my Nikon D7000 does it's job flawlessly. I initially thought the price was a little steep but when I got it and saw all the accessories it came with I realized the value I was getting. It came with a carry case, the flash system,ring adaptors for 5 different lense sizes, gels and diffusers. Totally reasonable for under $ shipped. Additionally you can add 6 more SB-R200 flashes to the ring. Great product! 5
