The Kopul ACH4-25MON Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable is designed to connect your digital recorder (e.g. Zoom H4n, Zoom H6, etc.) output to the mic level input of your DSLR camera with 25dB of attenuation to step down the hot line level audio to microphone level. It features a 1/8" headphone tap that allows you to monitor the signal to your camera and is shielded to reduce RF noise and provide interference-free operation.

The cable provides 25dB of attenuation to assure the output from your digital recorder is at an appropriate level for your camera's mic input. This backup recording can act as a fail-safe for your audio, as well as a reference track for easy syncing in post-production. The cable is 1-foot in length and features straight 1/8" connectors.

A: The Sescom XLR Male to XLR Female In-Line Attenuator (-50 dB) will bring a line level signal down to mic level, although it should be noted that a headphone signal does not have the same impedance as a true line output.

A: No, the Audio-Technica AT8202 does not require phantom power, although it can be used with phantom power without problems.

A: Yes you can. That is a cable to go from line level to mic level. Used so you can plug the output of a line level recorder out. Into a camera at mic level in. With a headphone jack.

A: Yes, you can use the attenuator cable to connect the line out from the H6 into the mic input of another recorder. If the second recorder that is being used for the backup recording accepts line level input signal, then you can use a standard 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS aux cable. As an example, Zoom's H1n accepts mic and line level through its 3.5mm TRS input. Just check the specs for the audio inputs on your backup recorder to be sure of what type of signal it accepts.

Q: 7. Does this cable work for zoom f6 too??

A: Hi Ching. This cable attenuates the signal 35dB, so it might attenuate the signal a bit more than desired. We have a couple of cables specifically for the Zoom H6, the LN2MIC-ZOOMH6 and LN2MIC-ZMH6-MON. These Zoom H6-specific cables attenuate 25dB rather than 35dB. The LN2MIC-TASDR100 cable will work, but you might have to raise the audio level up on your camera if the audio level is a bit low. Thank you!

Q: 8. Does this device provide phantom power for a Condenser Microphone that requires phantom power?

A: No it does not. That is an in-line attenuator. These are both phantom power supplies that can run off of a battery or a wall adapter. MAM48 for a single channel and ARADPP for a dual channel.

A: 4.3 inches

Q: 10. Is the item compatible with the Sony A7s?

A: Yes it is. The Sony A7s has a 1/8 inch mic level input. The Kopul attenuator would be used coming out of a line level source.

This great little cable turns your DSLR into a pro stereo recorder, with monitoring on the side. I used it to connect a Zoom H4N recorder to my Canon t2i camera. I was able to record the mixed stereo track directly to the camera, bypassing the need for separate audio recording, and avoid any sync issues. Works like a charm! 5
