The Waves SoundGrid Proton Server is a rackmountable DSP unit designed to provide affordable plug-in processing power for sound engineers using Waves plug-ins in live event venues, houses of worship, studios, and mobile recording rigs. Since it works with Waves live sound hardware consoles, SoundGrid audio interfaces, and traditional Core Audio / ASIO audio interfaces, the server is well suited for an array of recording and mixing setups. Plus, its aluminum enclosure is durable, easy to transport, and rack friendly (1/2 rack width).

With an Intel Celeron Quad-Core CPU and 4GB of RAM, the SoundGrid Proton Server reduces the plug-in processing load normally imposed on your computer. It capably handles the task of processing multiple instances of Waves plug-ins with latency as low as 0.8 ms at sample rates up to 96 kHz. A single RJ45 port ensures simple connectivity to your host computer or SoundGrid audio network, while power for the SoundGrid Proton Server is supplied by the included universal power adapter.

Waves' most affordable DSP server yet, the SoundGrid Proton server takes the load off your computer and gives you more plug-in processing power when mixing in the studio or live.

In the studio, use the Proton server with the audio interface and DAW you already have in order to free up your computer's CPU and offload plug-in processing to the server. Use the Proton server with a SoundGrid audio interface to record with plug-ins without latency.

When mixing live, use the Proton server with a SoundGrid audio interface and any compatible mixing console to process audio using Waves plug-ins at ultralow latency. The Proton server is ideal for use with 16-channel live sound hardware consoles (via the SuperRack plug-in rack), or with the 16-channel configuration of the Waves eMotion LV1 software mixer.

The half-rack aluminum casing fits perfectly in a 1 RU rack shelf. It can be paired with the Axis Proton Waves-optimized computer and combined with the eMotion LV1 16-stereo-channel mixer to build the ultimate compact live mixing system for a 16-stereo-channel setup.

Small enough to fit in your backpack, you can easily take the Proton server with you and supercharge your mixing power anywhere you go.

  • Use with non-SoundGrid audio interfaces (ASIO/Core Audio) via SoundGrid Connect
