Q: 1. Will the +1 fit in the Tilta Mirage Matte Box 4x5.65 filter slot?

A: Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65" +1 Diopter Brilliant Tray Mount Close-Up Lens will fit into the Tilta Mirage 4x5.65 filter slot.

Q: 2. What is the difference between this diopter and this one listed for $20 less BH #LI4565DIO12 ?

A: The main difference with the two Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65" diopters is the focus distance supported by each model. With diopters, the strength is in the number. Diopter strength is from 1/2, 1, 2, 3, and 4. They are set up so that you mount the diopter 1 on the lens, place the lens focus to Infinity and the diopter then focuses the lens a 1 meter. Further more 1/2 means it is focused at 2 meters.  BH #LI45651BTS is 1 BH #LI4565DIO12 is 1/2

Q: 3. what's in the box?

A: The ARRI Diopter Frame 138mm is only compatible with the LMB-5, 15, 25 and 4x5.

Q: 5. Can you use this in the Bright Tangerine Misfit Kick matte box? If so, will this only occupy one tray of space? Thanks.

A: The Brilliant Tray Mount Close-Up Lenses fit directly in 4"x5.65" matte boxes. The +1/4, +1/2 and +1 diopter strengths fit in 1 matte box slot. The +2 strength uses 2 slots in the matte box. The +3 diopter strength uses three matte box slots. The permanently mounted 138mm Close-Up Lenses provide a 5.1 inch clear aperture for use even with large diameter wide angle and zoom lenses.

If you understand micro photography, you know how valuable lighting can be. This set-up is great for macro. I have three lights (purchased an extra one). The commander is a great bonus as it can be used to fire off camera Nikon flashes for portraits or any other situation that a off camera flash is needed.

i am a us navy biomedical photographer for 7 years now and this is the best and the most versatile macro light set up out there. the wireless capability opens up new lighting possibilities in macro photography. i have used this light in the operating room for intra operative cases, documenting medical legal cases, forensic pathology, orthognathic/dental photography and a lot of specimen photography. this outstanding piece of technology does it all. by the way, i took a still life photo using this set up and people are asking me on what kind of powerful light did i use and they always look perplexed after i told them that i only used this set up. =)

Use in portrait mostly. This unit is easy to operate and has great flexibility, especially in conjuction with the SB800's. Adds just the right amount of light for subjects up close and shows the true details. The kit comes with flash units and the ring can accept up to 8 units; I intend on purchasing a few more of the flash units, with the intention of having a full-ring at my disposable. The construction of the flash unit design should have been somewhat sturdier. At first feel, it might seem that the unit isn't securely fastened (but you will apply the lock once it's attached). This simply means you need to be aware of the feel and act accordingly (like a good photog should :)

I bought this to use with the 105mm f2.8 macro and it is just what I had hoped for extreme close up work. I'v found that it is also great on other lenses as a fill flash for reasonable distances, the flash being at the lens centerline is a plus and you can angle them to suit the distance and focal length. I also use my SB-800 as a wireless remote. No problems with the operations, but there are lots of pieces to keep up with in the field.
