Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How far does the near object has to be from the lens, compared to a +1 diopter ?

A: When the base lens is focused at infinity, the object will be at the focal length of the diopter attachment. For the Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65" +3 Diopter Brilliant² 50% Rota-Split Close-Up Lens that is 333mm. For the +1 it is 1 Meter. When the base lens focus is changed to shorter distances, the object distance decreases.

Q: 2. Will this fit bright tangerine misfit atom?

A: No, The Lindsey Optics 4 x 5.65" +2 Diopter will not work with the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom. The Misfit will not accept drop filters on trays. However it could work with the Misfit Kick https://bhpho.to/3rAd17i

Q: 3. Please clarify since different matteboxes have different compatibility. Does this filter fit the Tilta MB-T12 Mattebox?

A: Yes it is compatible with the Tilta MB-T12 matte box.

Q: 4. Hi. Does it work on Tilta mb- t12? Thank you

A: The ARRI Diopter Frame 138mm is only compatible with the LMB-5, 15, 25 and 4x5.

Q: 5. What is the difference between this and the studio version?

A: The difference is that the Lindsey Optics Brilliant² 4 x 5.65" +3 Diopter Tray Mount Studio Close-Up Lens has a stainless steel post threaded into the handle. This makes it easer to reach the handle when the tray mount close-up lens is used in a Studio style matte box. For lightweight clip-on matte boxes the post is not necessary. The glass is the same in both versions, the tray dimensions are the same in both versions.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with Tilta MB-T12 matte box?

A: Yes, the Revar Cine 4 x 5.65 138mm Variable ND Kit A with Rota Pola Rota-Tray is compatible with the Tilta MB-T12 Matte Box.

Q: 7. Would this work inside a Bright Tangerine Misfit 3 stage matte box?

A: This will work in 4 x 5.65" matte boxes that can take three filters. The concave is lens is very thick on a +3 diopter so it needs the space.

Q: 8. Will this fit within the Arri MB20 Original Matte Box?

A: If it is a two-stage version of the MB20, it will be compatible.

Q: 9. Is it compatible to fit in the bellows set of the wooden camera UMB-1?

A: Yes, the Revar Cine Circular Polarizer Pola+ for Matte Boxes - 138mm, Mounted (BH #REM138CP) can fit into the 138mm round polarizer slot on the bellows of the Wooden Camera UMB-1 Universal Matte Box (BH #WO202100).

Q: 10. Can the diopter itself be removed from the 4x5" tray and used in a standard open 138mm round stage?

A: According to Lindsay Optics, yes, you could remove the glass, but the glass outside of the tray has no metal ring. This will cause difficult mounting issues as well as subjugating the filter to very possible damage. In other words, it is not at all recommended.

So far I have only gotten to use this flash system a few times but Nikon's ingenuity and attention to detail still had time to astound me. The flashes are very easy to use and connect and field adjustments are a breeze. I definitely have enjoyed using this product and am most likely going to buy a third SB-R200 for backlighting.

We use this unit in a laboratory setting. This flash unit works very well for close up photography without glares or the halo effect.

I use this speedlight system on my D750 and D7200 for close up photography of flowers and insects among other things. It also works great on my D5200, of which the built in flash does not work as a commander. Though I really didn't need the SU-800, I am happy I went with this kit because the built in flash commanders on my D750 and D7200 only commands 2 groups where the SU-800 can command 3 groups.

The R1C1 Wireless Close-Up Speedlight System allows you to totally own the light when shooting macros and close-ups. Doesn't matter what the sunlight is doing. They overpower the sun at close range - giving you luscious black and dark backgrounds so you don't need to perform digital magic in order for your subject to stand out. ISO 100, f/16, 1/200 second at 4 to 6 inches (10 - 15 cm) - no problem! Yes, a bit of weight at the far end of the macro lens - if you hand hold. On a tripod, with or wighout a focussing rail, they do nothing but provide even, smooth, wonderful light.

Bought this system for macro photography. Easy to use and works very well in bringing a balance light to the subject. Nice case to hold all the equipment when not in use.
