Frequency optimized to capture vocal performances, the Audix PDX720 Dynamic Vocal Studio Microphone (Signature Edition) features a dynamic mic capsule designed to deliver smooth, natural vocals with excellent low-end extension. The mic's hypercardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture narrowly in front of the capsule, helping to reduce bleed from other instruments as well as reflections from walls and hard surfaces in untreated recording environments.

A 3-position high-pass filter switch can be set to Off, 155, or 120 Hz, allowing you to easily remove unwanted low-end frequencies. Similarly, a 3-position presence boost switch can be set to Off, +1.5, or +3 dB to accentuate frequencies in the 3 to 8 kHz range. Low-noise preamp circuitry ensures a robust signal level from the PDX720, eliminating the need for an inline preamp often necessary with dynamic microphones.

A: Yes, it is compatible with the 70D. It is 2" in diameter and 7.3" long.

Q: 3. Can the receiver have 2 mics connected to it? Like 1 handheld and 1 lapel mic?

A: No. This receiver can only be used to connect to one transmitter at a time.

Q: 4. Is there an affordable USB audio interface you'd recommend for using the SM7B to record with a MacBook Pro? Shure recommends at least 60 dB of gain, which means that a lot of USB audio interfaces won't cut it. I'll gladly spring for the mic, but don't want to spend a fortune just to be able to use it.

A: Dont use this mic to record to a computer. Buy a portable Digital Recorder such as the Tascam DR-100MK II and then after recording import the file into your Mac or PC.

Q: 5. Does the on/off button have a mute option?

A: The mic does have a separate mute button in the front part of the mic.

Q: 6. What kind of receiver is needed for this wireless mic?

A: Actually this is a wired mic

Q: 7. hi. the power supply is it for europe? i need it for 240v not 120v

A: The power supply is dual voltage, so it will work in Europe.

Q: 8. its phantom power required? I would like to put ii on top my DSLR to get interior speeches or dialogs.

A: It needs a XLR connection (cable). I use it with a Zoom H6 and synchronize in post.

Q: 9. I have a frequency problem ?

A: Please e-mail us: askbh@bandh.com

Q: 10. can i use it in europe , voltage problems maybe?

A: Voltage should not be a problem since the power adapter works on 100-240 volts. However, you need to check if the operating frequency ranges are OK for your region in Europe. That by itself would be the reason to buy in Europe so that you can make sure you are operating within the local law and allowable frequency spectrum.

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I needed a mic to do basic voice overs for my youtube videos.  I did a ton of research.  The SM57 is classic mic used on the presidential podium and many other VIP speaking venues. I figured if it is good enough for the president then it is good enough for me, so I decided to give it a try.  It works really well for my voice over work.  I am happy with the sound of my voice through it.  Being a dynamic mic, it doesnt pick up any unwanted noise in my untreated room. It feels solid and professionally built.  It is also very cost effective.

Always a predictable sound from a 57

This is a well-made microphone that should outlast me. If you know anything about sound, you know the SM57, so I won't bother discussing the sound quality. Everyone should own one or more of these, since they work well on vocals, instruments, and spoken word.

I've been using it for spoken word applications like VO and podcasts. In retrospect I probably should have gone with the SM58 for what I'm using it for, but I'm not complaining. Just needs a good pop screen to combat plosives.

I've used this particular microphone for over 40 years. I've probably purchased 100's of these. It is a standard and is best for dynamic vocal and instrument applications.

Not too much to say about, you just can go wrong with the industry standard. I got this to upgrade my old AKG D22 to use with my snare drum in my home studio

For everyday use, and general purpose recording, it's hard to beat the Shure SM-57. It's built well, and holds up under abuse. Just a note, this model has no on-off switch, but for my needs, that's fine. The mic and cable are great. The stand is very light weight, and will not hold up under constant use. But then what do you want, B&H is pretty much tossing the stand in for free with this kit. The stand works fine for holding the mic, just be careful and gentle with it. If you want a stand for performance situations, spring for a real mic stand.
