Q: 6. How would I connect these mics to my phone? Do I need to download an app to connect the mics or can I just use Bluetooth?

A: The RODE Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder does not use Bluetooth. The receiver must be physically connected to your recording device; in the case of a smart phone, you will want to connect either with the USB-C (BH# ROSC16) or Lightning (BH# ROSC15) accessory cables. A 3.5mm TRS to TRRS adapter cable can also be used for older phones which do not accept digital audio input.

Q: 7. Can both transmitters be written to the same stereo file, in mono on the receiver’s output? Example: Transmitter 1 on the left, transmitter 2 on the right? I use a Tascam 701D w/NTG-4, Video Mic X, on 3 of the XLR inputs and would love to use the 4th XLR input to record the two mono lav’ mic signals.

A: Yes, the output from both transmitters can be combined and recorded as a two-channel mono or stereo file. In mono mode, the audio from both transmitters will be heard together on the left and right in dual mono, which means that you will hear the exact same sounds through the left and right. Each side will have the audio from the two transmitters mixed together so you hear both transmitters simultaneously on both sides. In stereo mode, you can separate the audio from the two transmitters to hear one transmitter on the left and the other transmitter on the right.

A: Hello Victor D, with our cables you should be able to pass up to 4kDCI as long as the camera is capable of outputting that source (i.e Sony A7sR2 etc...) the new HDMI 2.0a cables we will release soon will be able to pass 4k@60.

A: The RODE VideoMic GO II-H Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera Mount Shotgun Microphone cannot be connected to the Leica Q3 43 Digital Camera because the camera does not feature an external microphone input connector.

Q: 10. Will this carry 4K60p ? There is a pricey die-cast version from Atomos that is certified for 4K60P, but will this affordable one also do the job? After all HDMI2.0 is HDMI 2.0, no?

A: This does NOT work for me in 4K 60fps on a Ninja V and Sony FX3.

Annoying that a standard USB-C to Lightning wouldn't work to connect my Wireless Go II with iOS devices, but this cable does work to do it. 5

Many times people try to shoehorn their solutions despite the lack of reliability. If you want to reliably record audio to your iPhone using the Rode Wireless GO system, you need to use this cable. Any 3rd party solutions may only create more problems than it solves. You can't go wrong with solutions developed by the manufacturers of the product you're using. Highly recommended. 5

I'll probably be shopping for a lightening extension cable. Logically, the cable management junction box is on the 3.5mm end so that side cannot be extended if you want to use Rodes cool cable management system. 5
