Both Quad Pixel Drive and Rich Color Enhancer are core imaging technologies from Panasonic that help to deliver stunning 4K images with optimal brightness and color. Quad Pixel Drive helps resolution by rapidly shifting Full HD pixels vertically and horizontally to achieve 4K-like results.

Rich Color Enhancer is color optimization via two user-selectable mods. Dynamic Mode will offer you brighter images by balancing brightness and color in well-lit environments. Standard/Graphic Mode optimizes color reproduction by adjusting the color-wheel timing to expand the red-channel output. This is designed to product more natural and vibrant reds, as well as deep, rich, and accurate colors that are faithful to the source.

Without a PC, you can use the included remote control to fix projected image distortion caused by irregular surfaces and objects. A grid is overlaid onto the projected image, allowing you to more intuitively make adjustments. To assist in this, you can choose from 2x2, 4x4, 8x8, or 16x16 grids, you can change the grid and control-point colors for better contrast on your projected image, all while your progress is being saved automatically.

Any image adjustments that you make can be previewed on a laptop screen, so you're ready to go prior to a performance or presentation. It even works if the projector is in standby mode.

Thanks to robust construction and its laser light source, the PT-FRQ60 is capable of being used in prolonged installations that require constant, 24/7 operation. Construction that features filterless head pipe-based cooling and a hermetically sealed optical block to protect the lens from ambient dust. Together they equate to approximately 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation.

4K DIGITAL LINK lets you conveniently transmit your content over long distances, requiring only a single Ethernet connection at the installation location. You can transmit uncompressed 4K/60p footage and control commands via CAT 5e or higher from up to 164' away. If 10/100Base-T is all that's available, you can utilize that for control signals, freeing up 4K DIGITAL LINK for only video content. Ethernet connectivity also gives you the ability to clone a projector's settings for larger installations, letting you copy settings to up to 99 other projectors.

This technology limits brightness loss if a single diode fails in the projector. Also, the multi-laser drive engine provides redundant laser modules to maintain image quality, for if a module fails, which is essential for installations or important presentations that cannot be interrupted.

Six levels of user-selectable light adjustment to combat the effect of ambient light changes, boosting color impact, sharpness, gamma curves, brightness, and more.

This feature modulates the light output to achieve a high contrast image with less power. Also, digital frame-by-frame scene-linking can ensure precise light output adjustment for accurate contrast

When using multiple projectors, sensors detect color and brightness on screen and then automatically calibrate the projector for a more uniform multi-screen image.

Free AV is Panasonic's management software for Windows that lets you control this projector, and up to 2048 display devices of any brand over a LAN. It can also provide maintenance reminders, alerts, and more.

  • Quiet mode drops the noise to 28 dB
  • Quick start and shutoff that does not require warm-up or cool-down time
  • 240 Hz refresh at 1080p resolution with 8 ms response time for fast-paced action
  • Dual HDMI inputs with CEC control support
  • 1.46 to 2.93:1 throw ratio

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can it be mounted upside down to a ceiling?

A: The LG CineBeam PU700R 1000-Lumen UHD 4K DLP Smart Projector (B&H # LGPU700R) can technically be used upside-down, but this is not recommended. While upside-down, the projected content would need to be flipped vertically from the source, as this projector does not natively supported an inverted configuration. Additionally, this projector does not have compatible ceiling mount hardware, so any kind of inverted ceiling mounting would need to be a DIY setup, which introduces the risk of damaging the projector.

Q: 2. Can this projector come to focus at 31 feet? This is in a totally dark room.

A: The Sony VPL-XW5000ES 2000-Lumen 4K UHD Home Theater Laser SXRD Projector (Black), BH #SOVPLXW5000B, will deliver an image size diagonal of about 251" (16:9 aspect ratio) from a throw distance of 31'

Q: 3. What is the projector throw from 9 feet away?

A: The Optoma Technology UHZ65LV XPR 4K UHD Laser DLP Projector (BH # OPUHZ65LV) will display a 56" to 89" diagonal image (16:9 aspect ratio) from a distance of 9' from the screen.

Q: 4. Does this have HDMI-CEC control for power?

A: The Sony VPL-XW5000ES 2000-Lumen 4K UHD Home Theater Laser SXRD Projector (Black) BH #SOXW5000EB does not offer HDMI-CEC, But it does offer a 12VDC trigger port.

Q: 5. Does this projector has all direction precision to reduce the screen size even though it is placed edge of the 20 feet length media room?

A: The LG CineBeam HU710PW 2000-Lumen XPR 4K UHD Smart Home Theater Laser DLP Projector BH #LGHU710PW offers Lens Shift capability of: Horizontal: ± 24% Vertical: ± 60%.

Q: 6. Can you play movie files direct from the usb port? .MP4 / .MKV?

A: The Sony VPL-XW5000ES 2000-Lumen 4K UHD Home Theater Laser SXRD Projector (Black) BH #SOVPLXW5000B cannot playback multimedia files from its USB port.

Q: 7. Thinking of purchasing this for gaming in my home theater. Can someone ask LG to publish MS response time? Gaming input lag is tough in projectors. Before I spend $3k I want to make sure it is acceptable.

A: While LG has not published this spec ( I called them to suggest), Projector Cemtral has published the following: LG CineBeam HU810PW Brightness 2,700 ANSI Lumens Resolution 3840x2160 Aspect Ratio 16:9 (4K HD) Display Type DLP x 1 Color Processing 10-bit Input Lag 53ms (min) Input Lag (4k) 48ms (min) Video Modes 720p, 1080i, 1080p/60, 480p, 480i Data Modes MAX 4096x2160

Q: 8. 2700 lumens are enought for a 200 inch screen in a controlled place?

A: This projector will not produce a moderately bright image at the 23' throw distane required to fill a 200" diagonally measured screen.

Q: 9. Can I send audio out via bluetooth?

A: The Xgimi HORIZON Ultra 2300-Lumen XPR UHD 4K Laser/LED Hybrid DLP Smart Projector (BH # XGXM13N) does not feature Bluetooth broadcast features for use with wireless external speakers or wireless headphones.

Q: 10. I do not see a trigger output to control a screen. Are there other projectors with such output available?

A: I am not seeing that we offer projectors with a built in trigger output, but we do have projectors that will accept RS-232 control protocol for that kind of application.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm holding off on replacing my LG PF1500 with this. There are other options but LG really did something great with the 1500 LED 1080p projector and now I'm a lifetime LG fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’’s with great anticipation I await the new release Cinebeam HU85LA. I’m a long time home theatre enthusiast having stepped through the ages of front projection from the early days of the huge 3 gun CRT units to the refined LCD and DLP technology that shrunk the box and improved the optics .
Now eagerly awaiting the the 4K short throw evolution where patrons in my humble home cinema with low ceilings can cross the floor without boo’s from the audience for blacking our that crucial cinematic moment.
A projector bridging the divide with large screen high quality images, an option sitting nicely between a flat panel tv with all it’s on board goodies such as a DTV tuner and the most popular streaming apps and possibly more.
It seems to me this device will be a game changer whilst home theatre enthusiasts eagerly await yet the next evolution with affordable large screen Micro Led looming in the mists.
Bring it on LG , you’ve already shown the world an evolution in flat panel tech with OLED, now show the world how easy and affordable it can be to go to the cinema at home with large impact viewing and high quality images that reluctantly drag you off the couch from binging on cinematic glory or your poison for play offs!
Simply can’t wait!

Have been waiting for a quality 4K short throw in my recently built basement theater room, and this unit met my needs as my ceiling height is low and didn't want to use a ceiling mount unit. I sunk the projector into the floor of the stage so it is not visible when sitting; projected on to a 106 inch screen. The performance is excellent hooked to cable TV, and the 4K from a Pioneer Elite 4k blu ray looks very sharp. Have unit hooked to 7 channel audio system, however most of time for general tv only, just use internal built-in speakers which are ok for a unit this size. Operation is straight forward; adjustments for picture geometry were easy, haven't really used the apps thus far as have only had for a couple weeks. Spent a bit more that originally intended, but was sold on 4K laser short throw technology and would settle for nothing less.

Been using my unit for a couple weeks. In other reviews, people talked of fan noise. I only faintly hear it very faintly before sound starts. Some things that would have been helpful before I purchased it would have been some specs as to minimum heights above the projector to the bottom of the screen. I'm missing a couple inches of picture at the bottom of my screen which is as high as I can mount it.
Overall, I'm very happy
