Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Point to Multi-Point, how wide is the "beam" at ~1,000'? How far apart can I place receivers to send and receive data back to the "base station". Will Nanostations on the remote locations work at this distance in this configuration?

A: Litebeam is a 1:1 bridge. You would need to use a LTU or AirMAX multipoint to have multiple receivers.

Q: 2. Does this package come with the transmitter and receiver? or do we need to buy two?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks LiteBeam AC Gen2 airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Management Radio BH #UBLBE5ACG2US is one antenna.

Q: 3. Whats the distance on these puppies?

A: According to the manufacturer its 15km+.

Q: 4. I have a scenario where I need to use 3 units since I don't have direct line of site between the 2 points. Is that possible?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks airMAX NanoStation M2 Single-Band Indoor / Outdoor CPE Bridge is capable of point to point and point to multipoint communications. It can be used with multiple units.

Q: 5. Are these weather resistant? Installation on roof of two separate buildings?

A: Yes, these are weather resistant. These require 2 radios to work, send and receive.

Q: 6. The signal meter on the side of Nanobeam...does that assist for maximum signal pairing?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Does this item have the passthrough PoE? I have ordered several Gen2's, and they only have 1 Ethernet port. Apparently, units manufactured after November 2017 have the passthrough PoE. Please verify that your units have the passthrough PoE. I need several. Thanks.

A: The Ubiquiti Networks NBE-5AC-GEN2 NanoBeam ac Gen2 airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Management Radio (BH #UBNBE5ACG2US) does support PoE power pass through.

Q: 8. so can you have multiple of these, like one as host and others as client and limit the speed of each "client" individually?

A: Yes within the AirOS this can be done.

Q: 9. So whats the difference between this model and the ( air grid ) AG-HP-5G27 Does this model have the 30Km range and 27dbi ?

A: This model has 23db gain. In order for 30km of line of sight you would need to have a tower in the 250' high range.

Q: 10. Can the front of the dome be painted dark ???

A: Painting it will void the warranty but you can do it as long as you are comfortable with that and don't use metallic paint. Ideally using paint for plastic, spraying it will work better than brushing it.
